wildredskins
All my fond memories of the Redskins are at an impasse with one another. But one does surface quickly due to the long run of sub-par seasons, fueled by the second-coming of the almighty Joe Gibbs. The memory that floated to the top of the metaphoric brain glass the quickest is; the surreal comeback from behind victory in Texas over the Dallas Cowboys. It was the 2nd game of the season with the 1-0 Redskins coming into the game against the 1-0 Cowboys. The score was 13 to nothing with 3:55 left on the clock. It was 4th and 15 from the Dallas 39. Brunell threw a perfect spiral to Santana Moss in the endzone for a touchdown. Dallas had a decent return on the kickoff but essentially went 3 and out after a Flozell Adams penalty that nullified a first down that could have put them in field-goal range and burn up the painful ticking of the clock. Next possesion from their own 30 yard line lightning strikes a second time. Brunell hits Santana Moss in stride exploiting a seam in the deep zone coverage for a 70 yard shot that ties the ball game setting up the go-ahead PAT to win the game. Making this victory ever so sweet for the Redskins was spoiling what would have been a festive night for Cowboys fans. The team's largest crowd in 10 years (only a paltry 65,207) were enticed by the rivalry, but mostly to watch Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin join the team's Ring of Honor with delusions of coupling euphoria of a win against the Redskins with the inductions of their beloved tripletts. :dallasuck I house a plethora of great memories of the Redskins, but the stage is set to have the pinnacle of all memories come to pass this year. (2010) A Super Bowl Victory in the Cowboy's new punter-hater stadium. This would make my Redskin fan-career complete. With the added bonus of forever tarnishing the Cowgirl's facade of America's team. In conclusion, I'd like to add a thought to ponder. Americas team would have to be America's capital... OR- be a cleverly marketed team that people with no friends or football knowledge could feel at home anywhere in the country. Home town fans are true fans. SuperLukeTCW98
Well I was only 8 yrs old at the time, but without a doubt my greatest Redskin memory would be the second quarter of the Superbowl against Denver a.k.a. "The Orange Crush Superbowl". My parents always threw big parties for Skins' games and we always had a house full of family cheering. I think everyone lost their voice by halftime of that game... I went to school at James K. Polk Elem in Alexandria at the time and can remember having Redskins Day before that Superbowl, the school actually encouraged us to wear burgundy and gold face paint and any Skins' clothing we had, and held a pep rally for the Skins in the lunchroom, good times...good times! kschles
I'd have to day that my greatest memory is also of the Superbowl against Denver. I was living in a large high-rise complex at the time, and was watching with several friends. One of them was not so much pro-Denver, as anti-Redskins (I think he showed up for the food). After the first quarter (10-0 Denver lead), he was pretty ****y. By half-time, he was hiding in the kitchen. After the game was over, I went on my balcony and started banging pots and pans together. A lot of other tenants jumped in and made noise and started to flash their apartment or car lights. It was a great feeling.

TD_washingtonredskins
My fondest Redskin memory was the second quarter of Super Bowl XXII. That was the second or third season I followed from start to finish and actually understood. The season itself was a roller coaster and we had such a fun, resilient team. The first quarter of that game was so tragic to me. Here we were, playing for it all and we couldn't do anything right. What a 180 that quarter was. We ran something like 18 or 19 plays and 5 of them went for 6!!! That second Super Bowl remains my favorite one even though it wasn't the first (which I watched, though hardly remember) and it wasn't the most dominant (1991 was incredible). It was, however, perfectly timed for me. I was 10 during that season and so into the Redskins as a kid. I had nothing else really going on that I cared as much about (girls didn't matter, hadn't started SERIOUS high school sports yet, etc.). And, I was just a couple years into really understanding what was going on when I watched...a few years prior to that, I had a concept but more just was happy when we won, sad if we lost. 1987 was incredible and Super Bowl XXII was unforgettable to me! Poman
I was living in Germany at the time of the 91 Superbowl. I was 12 years old, and my whole family is Buffalo Bills fans(thats their hometown). Germany is something like 6 hours ahead, so the game came on around midnight. So I stayed up with my father till the game was over in the wee hours of the morning(big treat for me to stay up that late on a schoolnight:ols:). When the game was over, my dad was furious(and depressed) and he looked at me and said "well, aren't you going to gloat and rub it in"? I just stretched and said "Nah, I'm going to bed". Also, this isnt really a "favorite" memory, but one of my stronger memories. The stretch after Sean died(R.I.P.), I wouldnt watch games with anybody, I was just at home rooting for the Skins by myself and it was such a mixture of pride and sadness seeing them will their way into the playoffs. Thats all. HTTR
CajunSkin
Great memories guys, but my favorite is completely selfish. Last season my company provided airfare and game tickets (for both me and my wife) for the home-field victory against the Bucs. Getting there and back was like an episode of 'The Amazing Race' and I got to watch the game from an end-zone box. Absolute trip of a lifetime since I live in Atlanta - and it was just awesome to be there with so many of you screaming freaks! From my wifes perspective - the trip was so much fun and she found out so much about the history of the team that she's now a fan and even asked me to buy NFL Sunday ticket this year so we can watch America's Real Team at home
jflow78
I barely remember watching the Skins beat the Broncos, as that was my first exposure to football, but the one that stands out the most is the Super Bowl against the Bills. I actually cried at the end of that one, watching the guys celebrate after all their hard work and seeing them at the top of the league. I was 13 at the time, but I was watching the end of a dynasty. Still gets me a litte, like it was the ushering out of an era.

MWCREDSKINS
Super Bowl XXVI. Just a great way to cap off a tremendous season and at the time I couldn't stand Jim Kelly and all those Bills. They mouth off that week with Bruce Smith complaining about hate mail and Thurman Thomas saying he was " the Michael Jordan of the NFL". Well hello Big Ego would MJ forget his helmet. And their O Line coach making fun of the Hogs, well last I looked we dominated them and won 37-24 Funny thing is I've met several of those Bills since that game including Kelly and Thomas and they actually were nice guys who said the one that really stings is the Giants loss Honorable mention 2005 35-7 over Dallas. Just a dominating game from the 1st snap and my favorite player Chris Cooley lit up the Cowboys

laxpck
The best things about the seat cushion game was that Holyfield and Hammer were both on the sidelines (cause deion was on the Atlanta squad I think), they didnt stay to the end of the game. Jimbo
1982 NFC Championship Game. Chants of WE WANT DALLAS! Stands bouncing up and down, looking like they're gonna collapse after Dexter Manley tips Gary Hogeboom's pass into the arms of Darryl Grant, who rumbles in for the game-clinching TD. The realization that in two weeks I would be attending Super Bowl XVII where I would end up seeing "4th-and-1" live.
