All I have to say is Laverneous, who?

He is a has been, and the Skins were foolish to bring him on. We don't have a decent talent evaluator when it comes to evaluating WRs. If we did, we wouldn't have signed his punk ass, nor would we have signed Brandon Llyod and a couple of free loaders!

Dan can be reach right now. He's going throgh an intervention program on his addiction to buying a fantasy football team!

What?

And thank God that excuse for a WR has been cut and his career is most likely over. For all we know he'll be a Viking though.

I'll never forget that unbelievable hustle play Coles had against the Seahawks in '04, I think?

Brunell pick to Marcus Trufant? and Coles stayed him, strip-fumble-recovery just before the defender crossed the goaline. Viola, touchback, and the 'Skins win the game.

thats all I think of when I recall LC, that and his damn toe.

Coles refused to have the surgery to repair his toe which robbed him of his elite speed.

The type of speed that could've made him an upper echelon receiver.

His stubborness eventually lead him to what is now, a very mediocre career.

Say what you will about him, but his career has not been mediocre. You don't last 10 years in the NFL and amass 674 catches and 8,600 yards by being "mediocre."

Coles wasn't that bad while he was here so it's all good.

havent looked at his stats in awhile, but as i recall, he had a 100 yd game his first game as a skin. and then had- maybe- one over the next 2 seasons. and his TD total was nothing to write home about.

edit- checked his stats- he had 3 100 yd games- his first 3 as a redskin. had 3 the next 2 years.

i disagree with dan t. it may have been cuz of his toe- i imagine it was a big part of it- but i never saw a guy get so much $ for being butt-average.

This leads us to why he was dealt for Santana Moss. He felt it was the offense preventing him from being more successful.

If you think Joey Galloway is washed up, just take a look at Coles who is 5 years younger. He was riding on as the #6 receiver on the Jets and may be brought back in Week 2 for a non-guaranteed contract according to Ryan for his 'leadership', etc.

That's a nice way of saying he can't make plays on the field anymore but helps the younger guys translate the playbook.
