Oldskool
By Ryan O’Halloran Staff writer CSNwashington.com Redskins quarterback Donovan McNabb has been ruled out of Friday’s preseason game against the New York Jets because of a sprained left ankle. McNabb has not practiced since being injured last Saturday against Baltimore. “It’s still sore,” coach Mike Shanahan said after practice. “He’s walking on the treadmill. … There’s nothing you can do about it. Somebody sprains an ankle, they sprain an ankle. It’s quite sore. I don’t think he could go if it’s a regular season game.” Rex Grossman is expected to start in McNabb’s stead, and his absence also opens up the possibility of Richard Bartel and John Beck seeing action. Hail_Skinz
That sucks. I'm going to the game too. I was looking forward to seeing him play.
Gibbs Hog Heaven
Fudge. That's not good news being as the starters will probably go into the second half. If the Jets come out blitzing, as is Ryan's want, Interceptus Rexus could be back in full, panicking swing.. Hail.
hatethe cowboys
Blame this one on LJ. Yup. Probably hurt his case more than the tentative runs and dropped pass.

The Full Monty
Dang. Guess we gotta rely on the running game a lot more.
GaryGreenMonk
arg... i think we needed to squeeze in as much game time with McNabb as possible, so that there was some time to gel with recievers in game situations.. i guess the focus this friday will be Willie and the defense. blah.. redskns21
I was fairly certain that we'd have to see Rex start a game or two this season so this may turn out to be a blessing in disguise in that he gets some solid time with the 1st team. Bummed though that we don't get to see what the starting offense has against a tough Jets D after they flamed out last week.
JGordon_3
sit him for the next 2 weeks so he's fresh come Dallas. Exactly. Preseason doesn't matter! We need everybody as healthy as possible when the games count. McNabb is a vet. He gets the system. He'll be fine. The Jets would have lit his behind up anyway. Watch what happens to Rex. Titaw
Chris Russell Russellmania09 Donovan McNabb walking around with no wrap, no boot and his uniform pants for his Sunday Night Football shoot here at #Redskins Park. Stop freaking guys, it really isn't as bad as people are making it out to be.
Destino
Good. Donovan is a proven player... no need to risk him against a blitz happy Jets team anyway. Good luck Rex (be sure to strap that helmet on tight)

Skinsfanatic_1
We're BONED The running game behind Portis has looked pretty decent. I Don't know what you're talking about. I dont' see how we're boned. How did McNabb sprain his ankle anyway? Was it on a roll out? Because I can't even recall if he was touched before he started limping.
