Lombardi's_kid_brother
LKB, you're obviously a smart guy with a lot of good baseball opinions. But you've been sounding like a pompous ******* most of the day, pretty much every time you post in here. No, I would prefer not to. And frankly, most of what you've posted sounds like sabermetrics stuff you looked up on Wikipedia or something you read in Moneyball. It's cool that you subscribe to Billy Beane's theories, or appreciate the value over replacement player measure, but try laying out your arguments without trying to make others feel beneath you. No, they are beneath me.
Forehead
FWIWBarry Bonds began using steroids after the 1998 baseball season and came to rely on a wide variety of performance-enhancing drugs over the next several years, according to a book written by two Chronicle reporters and excerpted in this week's Sports Illustrated. Yeah, I've read the book. But I guessed 1999 strictly because Bonds was arguably the best player in baseball in the late 90's, but it didn't matter because America had a lovefest with the McGwire/Sosa homerun duel. I think Bonds saw that and wanted to be adored the same way. A few years later...73 homeruns.
