Greenhorn
Don't get me wrong...he is going to be a beast. I am watching the DVR replay on NFL Network. If you watch the line play at the snap of the ball....Trent is clearly a step slow getting off. More apparent on plays he is beaten badly on. Earlier in camp he alluded to this and he thought he had ajusted. It is interesting to see how a rookie responds to the speed of the NFL. This is just another learning point as he continues his climb to be an elite NFL tackle. I think this game will actually be a turning point for him. :dallasuck EDIT: Haha....damn the painkillers in the morning!

skinsfan1523
People were complaining about all the different looks the ravens were giving us. But I was fine with it, I wish every team would throw everything but the kitchen sink at us every preseason game. We gotta know what we have, and that was a good test last night. I hope the Jets are just as aggressive, better to have the tape and see where potential problems could be now rather than later when it starts to count. DCranon21
I'm glad this is only pre-season and not the regular season. Yes Trent was beat on some plays by a Pro Bowl defender, but what rookie wouldn't have a problem with Suggs on the left side. But he'll be fine overall. MumboSauce
I thought he did well, and it was against the Ravens...one of the fastest, most disciplined, confusing/complex, nastiest defenses you'll come against. The rook is doing a nice job and will only get better as he is subjected to more and gets further acclimated to the NFL.
mi6
Trent is a rookie, and has a lot to learn. The first game is only weeks away, and he needs to step it up. Work out more on his technique, conditioning, and strength. He needs to get his foot work right, and realise when to hold and when not to. Time for him to do a ton of mental preparation as well. He now has 2 pre-game films to watch, diagnose his problems, and work on correcting them. Best wishes... and, I do HOPE he is our probowl LT for years to come! As long as Donovan doesn't get injured of course. Preseason should get us ready for Week 1 and I'm glad Suggs showed the rook some of the good stuff so that the first time he sees Ware he can at least know how to respond. I hope the Jets are just as aggressive, better to have the tape and see where potential problems could be now rather than later when it starts to count. I'm assuming they will be but even if they aren't sending extra guys their Dline is a good test on its own.
Combatant
I don't know if this is posted anywhere else, but I am watching the reply right now and did anyone else notice Trent with a sling on his right arm? Here's the pic:
Combatant
Nevermind, answered my own question by watching a little farther. Elbow contusion.
HigSkin
I'll take the learning curve on Williams and glad we've got preseason for him to experience it. Hopefully, the elbow thing is a minor bump. Meanwhile, did anybody notice that Okung is out with a possible high ankle sprain?

SWFLSkins
Second start as a rookie against quite possibly the number one D in the NFL with an All-Pro playing end, un-worried about Williams.
CliffBattles
For his 2nd NFL game against Suggs, he did pretty well. Got worked a couple times....but by #55 so would have Chris Samuels.
flexxskins
It was a good tune up for when he has to go up against D. Ware.
Backpack3r
It was a good test for the rookie, i hope the Jets do the same, it will only make him better
Warhead36
I don't think he did too bad. Suggs is a monster and makes a lot of guys look slow. Even on the sack he pushed Suggs back and around, McNabb should have stepped up more. I don't expect a rookie to dominate an all-pro like Suggs but all things considered I think he did okay. Most of the pressure seemed to be coming right up the middle IIRC.
ZRagone
I think they did a study on this recently, comparing the first step time of speedy young players and to the first step time of some late 20 vets. The vets routinely had a faster first step. They theorized the reason was muscle memory, that the vets have done it so many times for so many years that the body simply reacts faster naturally for them. For a rookie he seems to have a pretty decent first step and I think over time it'll only get better.
Gibbsisgod2006
I thought Trent did ok considering he was going against Suggs. I think he is just going through growing pains.
Warhead36
I just hope Williams is healthy enough to play next week. He needs all the reps he can get, plus I don't want McNabb playing with backups on the line against a fearsome Jets D.
Loyal2Washington
You mean a rookie LT got beat a couple times by Suggs and Ngata??? A couple of Pro bowlers who are quite possibly in the top 3 at their positions in the entire NFL.... SHOCKED!!!! Shocked I say. Trent had more then a few plays where he held his own just fine against Suggs in pass pro so I wouldn't worry to much just yet.
authentic
People are acting like he got destroyed last night. Don't get me wrong, Suggs gave him a run for his money. But outside of the sack and Suggs bullrushing him into LJ on the one run play, I think he handled himself pretty well.
