Califan007 The Constipated
This is why I quit trying to have serious conversations here because nobody can be serious you stated the Cowboys have not scored an offensive TD in 10 quarters you were wrong just admit it and move on. The Cowboys missed by two stinkin' minutes!! :rotflmao:...They were 2 minutes away from going 10 quarters of football without an offensive TD. And in fact, if you want to go back to last year's playoff game against the Vikings, the Cowboys actually went MORE than 10 quarters, to 14 quarters lol ...I assumed that pretty much all Dallas fans, even if they don't like me making fun of their team, would be intelligent enough to grasp that 148 minutes without an offensive TD is, in reality, no different than 150 minutes without an offensive TD...and wouldn't try to hang their arrogance on such a small sliver of an issue. They'd understand what I was getting at... But, alas, as happens way too often, the benefit of doubt I give to Dallas fans' level of intelligence always backfires in some way lol... I'm saying I dont care how we score. The scoreboard says "points" Not offensive or defensive points not points courtesy of .... But the issue being discussed by me, and in the media, has been Dallas' "high powered" offense not scoring in the preseason yet.
tr1
Ok, fellas, the game isn't over, yet. What do you think most of the stories will be about tomorrow? The impressive first half stats by the first team? How will the first team's performance be sized up? Anyone?
THEHEREAFTER
We're not talking about "other games" or "real games"...we're talking about whether or not the one lone offensive TD that Dallas scored in THIS game would have been scored if not for the defense causing the turnover and taking the ball all the way down to the 8 yard line. I do see your point and I'll be able to analyze this a little better when I see the replay. I guess I'm looking moreso at the grand scheme instead of one lone pre-season game. We'll see how the rest of the preseason progresses for both teams.

Califan007 The Constipated
Seriously? Thanks for not writing off a guy coming off a 4400+ 9 int season. Different teams, different opponents, different agenda's, different PRESEASON circumstances in many cases. Romo sits to pee is no Peyton Manning by any means but wouldn't it be silly to ask colts fans if they're disapointed in his PRESEASON play? Silly to ask fans of a team and a QB who have been to the Super Bowl twice, if issues being seen in the preseason concern them?...Yeah, probably. Silly to ask fans of a team and a QB who have only one single wildcard win on their resume if issues being seen in the preseason concern them?...Not in the least. I guess I'm looking moreso at the grand scheme instead of one lone pre-season game. We'll see how the rest of the preseason progresses for both teams. I'll tell ya...if this had been the Redskins, 90% of the Stadium would have been livid and would have had zero problem calling that TD a "gift TD". Even after last week's game, we had more than a few ES members saying that the Skins were more or less lucky, and that if not for a few timely penalties the score would have been 10-3 Buffalo at the half instead of 21-3 Redskins. tr1
Jesus, you're so caught up in the "stories" and the "press." LMAO... it all makes sense. THA, try to walk in our shoes. From ESPN (Extra Special Puke Network) to SI to Sporting World...it's all pukes, pukes, pukes. If you go to the DMN, you'll see headlines about GB being the only team in the NFC as a threat for your team to go to the SB. Alas, those of us who watch your team see a patch work o-line, getting older and more injured...a QB who looked HORRIBLE in his last game that counted (reminding many of us what he's looked like the previous four years), and a defense that, quite frankly, is still going to be suspect against the pass. So, yes, it brings us a load of glee when the early season hype turns to preseason fear, and then finally, when the regular season begins, the ruminations about what went wrong will begin. For Skins fans, it's quite delightful. Oh, and I'll be sure to post some stories for you tomorrow.

Ok.. Ok.. I've been disappointed in our offense thus far in the preseason but like Ken stated earlier, I know that we have very potent offense (#2 last year) with a few pieces missing right now. We're returning most of our starters and have an extra preseason game. Look at the Jets. Their starting offense played an entire half in their first pre-season game. Different teams, different circumstances, different injury concerns. To be clear, I am concerned about the health of our o-line and pass protection in general but it's only a mild concern at this point. The irony is that we seem to move the ball well between the 20's but have stalled in the redzone which is why I'm pleased with punching it in, even if the defense set up good opportunity to score. Yep, that's the spirit. Take whatever breaks you can get. I watched enough of these teams over the years to know that whatever they talk about on paper doesn't usually amount to much. Every year, it's a new team, even if it is the same group of players. Every year, the team has to learn how to play as a team, and how to win as a team. Ken
What you fail to realize is that your team has changed fundamentally.Jerruh talked about a small window for accomplishing things. Unlike you, he sees the window has closed. Losing Flo is a bigger deal than any of you think. And, running back by committee rarely works in the NFL. You have a recipe for disaster. Why is losing Flo a big deal? Has Free not stepped in seamlessly and actually improved the mobility of our Oline immensely? Maybe I missed this recipe you speak of? Ken
Unfortunately, your premise is incorrect. In the ATN we strive not to discuss the Skins. Invariably, however, puke fans ALWAYS bring up the Skins whenever someone points out a flaw in that blue and silver hype-myth of a team you have. You fellas do the comparisons. We just laugh. My post was only the mentality that Skins fans try to interject into our situation. Not that you guys would ever drag the skins into it but you sub consciously think that because you need to see your team actually do it, means that Cowboy fans do too. You assume that we are worried about guys missing a couple of preseason games and our offense not scoring every time it has the ball in preseason. We are not concerned. Only concern is not losing key people to injury for the year....that's it.

Voila. Mission Accomplished. Oh, yeah, sure sure...you "concentrated" on red zone offense by having the starting offense never once get past the 50 yard line lol ...I guess we really should be blaming the Dallas defense for doing such a crappy job of putting the ball in the Charger's red zone for Romo sits to pee and the boys since they only did it once, and thus robbed the offense from "concentrating" on their red zone woes. And of course you guys never bothered to concentrate on red zone offense in the last two games, oh no, no... Or perhaps you were meaning that the Cowboys were always in their red zone offense, even when trapped deep in their own territory...that WOULD explain the pathetic 2.1 yards per attempt that Romo sits to pee had up until they actually were in the red zone ...makes perfect sense, Ken! That's why they were only having drives of 17, 13, and 9 yards...they were only gameplanning for 20 yard drives, tops lol

Going into this season, two areas we wanted to get better at were Defensive Turnovers and Red Zone Offense. Up until tonight, our Redzone TDs were non existent. Today, at least, we had success in both areas. No more, no less.

ArmchairRedskin
Ken's team is ten foot tall and bulletproof. If his team stumbles down the stairs and lands on it's neck it's because it wanted to test out it's neck strength, not because it's clumsy.
