Gibbs Hog Heaven
Happy 4th anniversary Reds of the mad German btard tipping up and dragging us from the absolute depths to now the best side in all of Europe. With the football club flourishing, in most every facet, on and off the field, better than it ever has in our entire, storied history. After Dalglish, who stands alone in all he means to the football club and City; he is unequivocally the most important signing, along with Shankly for exactly the same reasons and impact back in ‘59, this football has ever made IMHO. Absolute privilege to have him living and working in the same City. LONG may that be the case and this wonderous ride we're on together continue. (Which has now been amended to end 'We won it in Madrid.'). That's what, his third song now? And the one that's sticking and getting belted out most weeks. Still love the Shakey Stevens Christmas classic from the best end to a Derby ever a few years back before big Div decided otherwise last year! That'll DEFO get an airing the start December against the Ev haha. Hail. I’d seen the video of Webster doing that tune in May, hadn’t realized it’d made its way to the matches. Guess it’s not as recognizably snappy as “Si Senor”. Gotta get the lyrics straight, hard to tell exactly in the vids, that Scouse stuff and all.😁

Long n Left
Big international break for the Oranje. Face N Ireland tomorrow, who sits tied top of the group with Germany on 12 pts. The Dutch sit third on 9 pts., but have a game in hand. N Ireland took all 12 in their dual meetings with Belarus, and Estonia, before losing 2-0 to Germany, in a game that may have been closer than the score line. Match is in Rotterdam, so I expect the Oranje to put out a top performance, and secure three points, leveling them with N Ireland in the group, still with the game in hand. N Ireland will face the Dutch again during the November break, then will travel to Germany. After tomorrow, the Dutch play away at Belarus Sunday, before Nov matches with N Ireland, then home to Estonia. Win tomorrow, and at least a draw in Belfast, and qualification should be secured. Be nice for one of the storied footballing nations to be back in major competitions where they belong.
Long n Left
Wow, crazy match that! Kinda had the feel of a Reds match. N Ireland parked the bus looking for a hopeful draw, and the Dutch struggled to break them down. NI did next to nothing going forward. Koeman put on Malen and Van de Beek, and the Dutch began ratcheting up the pressure. Then a 75th minute miscue from de Ligt, and **** defending by Daley Blind gives NI a goal from their only real chance. Enter Memphis. A beautiful cross from Malen is cashed in by Depay moments later, and with him sitting in a deeper role, he and Frenkie de Jong control the remainder of the game. Luke de Jong gets the stoppage time winner in Origi vs Everton, shake your head fashion. Then Depay puts it to bed moments later. Between the Red and the Oranje, my heart is getting a workout, but they just keep winning. Onward and upward you both! Hup Holland! YNWA!

Gibbs Hog Heaven
An interesting and pertinent read through the break as to just how quickly things can flip in this mad, financially dominated football World as to the current, desperate plight of AS Monaco in Ligue 1. ( Where's @FrFan when you need his wisdom?)- https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49920769 As sad as that is to read, I know I'll be eternally grateful to the principality club for Fabinho. Who, after a slow introduction whilst he learnt not only about the unique style and pace of the English league, but the complexities of playing one of the midfield roles in our system (I think it was the beginning of November last year before he got his first league start if IIRC?), has proven an absolute bargain at £ 43. 7 million. I used to love Mascherano. But this fella is FAR better. He’s everything the Argentinian ever was with the one key difference. He always plays off the front foot and everything he does is forward-thinking. He's the preverbal 'Quarterback' in the defensive anchor role with the game intelligence/ vision/ passing ability of a #10. I'm just waiting for him to blam one in from 20 odd yards, which is the only thing he did at Monaco we've not seen yet, for the ground to go absolutely off the charts wild. He's everywhere protecting defensively, ala Kante. If there's a cleaner, more consistent winner of open-field tackles playing the World over I'd like to see them? Bu,t as alluded to above, he doesn't just win it and dump it off like the vast majority of DM's who play horizontally. He wins it, and then he's either playing it forward, or on the move forward himself. And if it breaks down, he's often the highest forward midfielder winning it back and going at the opposition defence. Completely dominates and dictates games like the true, World Class players in his role over the years have consistently done. He's been described recently by the likes of Garry Neville as the best DM in World football. But he’s SO much more than that. Just a brilliant, old fashioned. all-round midfielder equally at home either end the park. Pep Lijnders described him perfectly as our 'lighthouse.' With the ridiculous work-rate our midfielders get through every game, and the need for heavy rotation within that, he's the one who's made himself virtually impossible to leave out. He's as integral to what we do as any player. The absolute identikit ideal fit for how we view a #6 who balances everything in that area perfectly. And his misses has one of the best twitter games going haha. She absolutely loves her husband and by association Liverpool more than the most impassioned Red. Gibbs Hog Heaven
The English kicking off again in Prague over night. Another major reason to have zero interest in the National side. Embarrassing pricks. Hail.
Gibbs Hog Heaven
Massive respect to the England National camp for the way they handled the disgraceful situation in Bulgaria last night by forcing UEFA to implement their own protocols. But the irony of England fans mocking racism wasn't lost on me. There's no moral high ground to take when there's still a real big problem in our own back yard that's needed properly dealing with for well over 5/6 decades now. Starting with many 'fans' that follow the National team and who openly indulge in casual racism up and down the Country on a weekly basis. Until we address that and eradicate racism from our own stadiums, before you even start on the overt, institutionalised racism that continues to be prevalent within the game, we're still a part of the problem and that's the first thing that needs to finally change if England want to be the standard bearers on this despicable blight on any civilised society. Massive kudos again for the English National team taking a stand and handling last nights disgrace in the proper manner. But it's futile if our own house is left unattended and the only time this becomes an issue again is when it next happens on foreign soil. Gibbs Hog Heaven
This is a boss, unbiassed half-hour watch that when someone eventually puts it on YouTube or the like I'll post it- Mad how even though this is still unequivocally the biggest rivalry/ game in World football (so cute how City are desperately trying to manufacture one with us that will never be there outside of a direct time period like now), Scousers and Mancunians get along so well when you take the football off the table. But fans across the globe are that conditioned that the other is the deadly enemy and you have to outright hate them, and anything/ one connected to either club/ City that it's also one of the most poisonous games in World football that brings out the very worst in people. If you're not from either Liverpool or Manchester and haven't been brought up in the unique culture in our little corner of the World that defines most everything about us that sets us apart, I don't think you can truly understand just how alike we are and the respect, even if it's not often admitted, lads in both City's have for each other and the others respective City and football club. Gibbs Hog Heaven
Right into this shower of ****e today Redmen! This is one game City will be expecting us dropping points in so let's make sure that doesn't happen. They might be the worst Utd side in living memory, but win today and that's a real statement sent out at a place we rarely do. Up the 8 points clear Reds! Gibbs Hog Heaven
Absolutely delighted with that. Been mad to me all week how everyone, not just L’pool fans, had us winning comfortably. Utd- L’pool rarely rolls like that. Not least at Old Trafford. So to go there and be so off it, as we usually are at Utd, and come out with a point is massive. These lads ALWAYS find a way. One in the eye for all the, let’s be polite, ‘silly’ people who question Lallana’s veteran presence in this squad. Made that all the sweeter. Not even getting into VAR. Impervious to it now. We’ll get done at times like today. We’ll benefit at times. It’s a complete joke but it is what it is and it’s going nowhere. Pretty good Sunday all told. Up the unbeaten Reds! Hail. In plain sight behind the goal. One of those jaw dropping ‘Really?!!!!! Well that’s gonna be down in a minute’ moments. But no. The Spanish left it up for the full 90 minutes and celebrations. And not a word was said in the media. Wednesday was the first time it’s appeared since then and NOW they make it news. No accounting for stupid. I have a good idea who’s banner it is but naturally nobody now is claiming it for fear of repercussions. Hopefully that will deter any more ignorant stupid like that.
