GhostofSparta
You people liked the name "Colt".The kid did noting but hang on for 3 years. Not gonna lie, during the draft I was hoping Colt McCoy would drop to us in the 4th just for fun we could have had with "Colt vs. Colt" or the fact that the Cult of Colt could've stayed for another 3 years for a different QB, making new Colt McCoy followers very confused. darrelgreenie
I'd like to know these results also. I found this article on John Beck who was drafted by the Dolphins in the second or third round of the 2007 draft. He was timed at 61.1 mph:http://www.craveonline.com/sports/article/brigham-youngs-john-beck-63171 That Beck's arm strength tested by a gun throwing a comeback route. Frame of reference Flacco who's consider to have one of the stronger arms in the league was clocked at 61-63 (i'll check for sure later) Long story short you heard it here first Beck has a strong arm
Maximus71
Colt gone and bringing in John Beck is really 6 one way one half dozen the other and it really is a telling tale of how bad the QB situation behind McNabb is. I am curious to know how many other teams have a great starting QB and a back up that is just as good?
RandyHolt
John "Clipboard" Beck FTW. Cult was a Zorn guy. That speaks volumes.
Se7en 8te N9ne
Sad to see Dutch go. He was a local kid, went to Gonzaga for highschool...oh well, good luck Doug!
Oldskool
I am curious to know how many other teams have a great starting QB and a back up that is just as good? That's not even the conversation here. Again, the problem is that the backup situation is worse than it is in the majority of teams around the league. I still think Grossman will be the backup and that Beck is being brought in as a 3rd QB/emergency QB.

Stadium-Armory
Seems like a good trade for us. Like last year, Doug Dutch wasn't going to make this squad.
FINatic 13
I'm a dolphisn fan (as you can tell). Phins fans hated Beck. He had a really great live arm but was clumsy, fumbled constantly, not calm in the pocket and has a real problem making decisions. I know on here you either love or hate Colt but he's better than Beck. Just glad that whole draft for us (Ginn & Beck) are gone/done with us. Stadium-Armory
I did a little research on Beck, and saw this line in one of the articles I was reading: "Other than Colt Brennan, perhaps no signal-caller in college football had as good of a season as John Beck." Sort of ironic that four years later their fates are still intertwined.
Ahmayzin
That's an interesting trade. Beck was thought to be the next big thing for the Dolphins not that long ago. I Do remember this. EH...Never joined the Colt bandwagon although he did seem like an exciting player. Hoped he'd excel, but you need more than a fan club to be an elite QB. Best of luck CB. Darth Tater
LOL wow. I'f we traded a 3rd QB for our best cover corner, I will denounce my skins fandom that instant. That would have been kind weird. In football as with pretty much everything in life, the side with the lesser perceived need will likely get the better in any transaction. Here, everyone pretty much KNEW the Ravens needed a DB while a better number 3 or 4 QB was just a nice to have for the Redskins. Its funny because, barring injuries, Doug Dutch would have been cut. Of course, on here, we know about the repercussions of that kind of stupidity, but that draft had to sting for you guys.
pennywise
Cam Cameron was in love with Beck once. If Baltimore traded him and gave up, I don't see much hope for him honestly.
angel2
Bye Colt...... I can't see how you can come to that conclusion. Beck has to learn a new system whereas Bartel and Brennen have worked in it for awhile and that gives them a much better grasp of it.
GhostofSparta
I can't see how you can come to that conclusion. Because it's already happened. Check the front page and the Breaking News section. It's a done deal.
Snarky
Cam Cameron was in love with Beck once. If Baltimore traded him and gave up, I don't see much hope for him honestly. John Keim reported that league sources told him that Kyle Shanahan has liked Beck since BYU days. Zorn basically ruined Colt. Let's see what Kyle can do with Beck. I'm guessing that a lot of us are in for a surprise.
KDawg
Guys... Even if Beck makes the team it's probably going to be as the third QB... So hopefully he won't see much, if any, time on the field. This is a competition move. Shanahan must have not liked what he saw in Colt for his system.
TheLongshot
Cam Cameron was in love with Beck once. If Baltimore traded him and gave up, I don't see much hope for him honestly. It was a numbers game in Baltimore. Troy Smith was drafted by the team and is a couple years younger. Zorn basically ruined Colt. Excuses. Colt had issues with his game that he had to overcome, and he hasn't been able to so far. I like him too, but the reality is that he didn't do much in his limited appearances to prove that he's an NFL QB.

I disagree since Colt/Beck is going to be a third-stringer. I'm pretty sure Rex G is a solid #2 QB behind McNabb. Our QB situation is OK. I'm not too worried about it. I'm not too worried about it. I'm not sold on Rex "unleash the dragon" Grossman yet. If he has more days like today than I'll be quite a bit less worried. The 3rd QB slot really didn't improve with Beck coming on. I hope that Richard Bartel steps up and gives Rexy a run for the 2nd QB slot.
