Sorry if it there was a previous thread to this....

On NFL Network Marshal Faulk picks Redskins to win NFC East.

Warren Sapp picks Redskins to finish 2nd behind the Cowgirls.

and of coarse Jay Johnston picks the Redskins to finish Third (behind which two wasn't stated).

Of coarse it's not ESPN, as the Redskins don't get any props from them, ever!

However, it's was nice to hear a Hall of Famer pick the Redskins on NFL Network!

HAIL!!!:point2sky

It's not the typical hate anyways. I would definitely say that Marshal called it when he said that coach was punishing AH and wasn't going to pass the test...he also went on to say that it would be a matter of time before AH would pull up with a hammy or strain if it continued. He's been around...

Two quick points on this:

1. Marshall Faulk is not (yet) a Hall of Famer.

2. He is, however, apparently a drug addict, and/or doesn't actually watch NFL games. Picking the team that didn't win a single division game last year to actually win the division . . . clueless!

Dude who pissed you off?? I think its OK to get a lil luv once in awhile from the analyst. When someone finally says something positive you piss on them and call them drug addicts?? I don't get it, if your a true fan just enjoy the positives sheez...

I'd love to see a source about him being a drug addict and never watching any NFL games. Because without one you're coming off as a total dickwad.

Anyway, it's nice to hear some positives about the Skins no matter what analyst is saying it.

I agree with you. Faulk might not be a Hall of Famer right now but he does know his football unlike some of the other guys that just go with the flow. I am not saying that the Redskins will win the NFC East but look at the Saints emergence to SB Champs. Anything can happen.

Analyst's opinions, power rankings, etc., are stupid, and I could not care less about them - it's just the sports media machine making noise. How many extra wins does it get the team when an NFL analyst picks them to win the division - that's right, zero! So I don't care what they say.

And picking the Redskins to win the division? That's just silly. I'd love to be wrong, but this team hasn't won the division in over 10 years, is coming off a 4-12 season, and didn't win a single division game last year. Rome wasn't built in a day, and division winners aren't usually built overnight either.

I'm a true fan, but not a blind one.

I hear ya and understand what your saying but keep in mind (and hopefully since your a true fan you've been keeping up) this is a totally revamped team from top to bottom. On paper I feel that we have a very strong team and now we have the coaches to put it all together. I know analyst are just that "analyst" but when we've been getting pissed on (well deserved) for the last 5yrs it feels good for them to talk positive about our Skins. I don't drink the kool-aid but I do feel that we have a VERY strong chance of winning the division as well, I'm not convinced that the Cowboys are as strong as everyone says because of the following:

Soft DB's

Soft LB's

Romo sits to pee interested in being a professional golfer

Soft coach

Soft O-line

Austin will prove he was a one hit wonder

Now they do have a strong running game

A decent TE

A strong D-line

Philly to young and have an unproven QB

Giants, I've never been really impressed..

Say what you want as everyone is entitled to their opinion but I truly think this year will be totally different than what we've seen in the past!

I completely hope you're right, but we aren't really going to know until the (real) games start. The season opener vs. Dallas will answer a lot of questions. Until then, it's like Bill Parcells always said - you are who your record says you are.

I always liked it better when the analysts picked the 'skins to do poorly - kept the team from getting a big head, and maybe gave them a chip on their shoulder. I'd rather our team get trashed in the media and actually respond by winning some games, rather than get hyped up by the media and respond by always falling short (like the Cowgirls and Chargers always seem to do).

And this, my friends, is why the NFL is the best league in the country.

Every year, no matter what happened the previous year, everyone thinks their team has a shot.

And rightfully so, the % of teams who make the playoffs back to back and the % of teams with back to back superbowl appearances, compared the % of teams making the playoffs/superbowl when they didn't the year before justifies the opinion.

There are only a few teams in the league that have fans that don't think it's possible, and sometimes even those teams surprise everyone

Might get a bit more optimistic when I see us beat Dallas Week 1

I think this game may get overhyped and I don't think we should put too much into it. They might be more prepared at that point early in the season and it may take the Redskins sometime to work out the bugs with all the changes.

But I do see the Redskins playing hard and wanting to impress so I hope they win it big.

I don't think us finishing in 1st would be a huge surprise. We've addressed are biggest weaknesses from last season and no one else in the division got noticably stronger. So I don't see why we couldn't make a run at the division.

Isn't funny Cris Carter said we had the worst offseason? What an idiot lol

So true - I love the ride.

Dallas is certainly more hyped, so if the 'skins could actually win this one, it would be HUGE. It would show this is a new team, totally revamped from last year's disaster, and ready to take on the supposed Super Bowl contenders. The momentum created would be incredible.

Tell that to the NFC south. The NFL is so different year in and year out because of roster turnover and injuries you never know who's gonna be good or bad. So I think its possible they could win the division its not crazy talk you dont have to "be on drugs" to think the Redskins could win especially the zorn and Cerrato to Shanahan and Allen is a major upgrade and you will see a major gameday difference.

Marshall Marshall Marshall!!!

There's nothing wrong with the Skins being atop the NFCE this year, nothing at all.

If you will look at last year, the Pukes barely won {with a ref's blind eye} in their own back yard, and are a pretty good team, but not invincible; their wins were mostly emotion wins, and Romo sits to pee's sloppy play at times did beat us twice, but a disciplined defense will stop that, along with a more potent offense.

The Giants were just sloppy all over, a few good players but easily beatable. Pierce is gone now, and their defense will show this loss in their confusion.

The Eagles always play us hard, and the big story in these 2 games will be Kolb vs DM, but they've lost some key players, and I doubt they will be able to recover from.

With that being said, the one thing not mentioned is the upgrade on many fronts for the Skins; new coach, GM, QB, and a few other players which will hopefully be a good benefit, along with a few players coming back off injuries and ready to play, and no team has any idea of what to expect from the Skins, all they know is it will not be the same bumbling fumbling team of old, so there is no reason why the Redskins cannot claw their way to the top of the NFCE, and best way to do this is to start whipping ass week 1...
