coolbeans
There was something posted about how they'll restructure it next year, depending on his performance, of course. Can you relay where you heard that. I haven't seen it anywhere.
coolbeans
They're gonna need it... Whether that proves to be true or not doesn't really matter. What does is that they've got it and an extra preseason game to get ready and evaluate the young guys.
Big Blue Joe
No, they didn't. But its fun watching you pretend you know what you're talking about all the time. Every year, every player gets more money than the player from the previous year in that slot, that's just how it works out. Its totally normal. And that's why a rookie pay scale is fast incoming. There's nothing unreasonable about Dez Bryant's contract. He's getting paid a little more than $2 mil/year. The Cowboys didn't exactly break the bank for him. Outside of the first 10 picks or so of the draft, I'm not sure a rookie pay scale would have much effect. Duckus
He could be good - or he could be a complete disaster just like Roy Williams. You can never tell with WRs.

Duckus
LIke you can with other positions? What, OT's are easier to spot? CB"s, do tell? In my opinion, yes. For some reason I think it is very difficult to scout WRs properly for transition from college to the NFL. Why? I honestly have no idea. I think it could be because in college pure speed is enough to be dominate, but in the NFL it is much more mental. Scouts and GMs seem to miss much more on WRs than they do with OL, DL, LB, RB, DB. There is something weird about WRs. I think QBs and CBs are hard too. So yes, I think Dez Bryant could be a Pro-Bowl caliber player but I also have heard that about hundreds of other WRs who never lived up to their billing. It all depends on what he has upstairs. We won't know that until a few weeks into the season.
tr1
You know all of us Skins fans love your never-ending battle against the Boys on this message board. And we typically support you 100% in your personal crusade. But come on man . . . you gotta give credit where it's due. Devin Thomas was a question mark coming into the league because he had just one explosive breakout season. M. Kelly, despite his physical abilities, was also a question mark because of his knee problems. Dez however is not. While he isn't a finished product at this point, the kid can straight out play. The cowboys got a steal in getting him so late. I seriously doubt anyone can honestly compare him to our two projects. You know, all of us Skins fan wonder about you. Your posting history sure makes you sound like a puke fan.
tr1
Except that's not what the veterans have said at all. - Roy Williams - Mike Jenkins - Miles Austin Please, try to back up some of the **** you throw against the wall. I'd ask for a link, but I'm too busy LMAO. Tr1, please never change! You ! You fellas should read what Romo sits to pee said about the guy...him being a rookie, and all. You find it. I made you aware of it. Get back to me, eh?

Get back to me, eh? Romo sits to pee said the Cowboys are excited about drafting Oklahoma State wide receiver Dez Bryant in the draft last week. Oh noes, good thing Romo sits to pee cant assess his own WR's and totally didnt call on Miles. I cant wait to see Romo sits to pee put Dez thru the training camp mentalilty and see if he can handle it. Im hoping this is the piece Dallas needs to make this offense even more explosive. Spartacus87
I don't Bryant is going to bust out this year, since a lot of the passing game will still revolve around Austin and Witten, with probably some last gasps from Roy Williams. But I think in time Bryant's going to get more and more opportunities and show that he's a beast. I wasn't happy about that pick when it happened, and I'm probably going to be cursing the guy up a storm for years to come while he's scoring TDs for Dallas. This was to be the cant miss WR of the draft and im really hoping a gem landed in our laps here.

I don't think this pick has anything to do with your scouts, like you said, Dez was the can't-miss WR in this draft as far as talent goes. So, its like when Orakpo fell to us last year. Us taking him had nothing to do with the scouts, it was a no-brainer.

Oooorrrrr he isn't a blind homer but a Redskins fan first, football fan second? It's too bad you ruin threads, and don't bring much to them. Well, you bring a **** ton of nonsense and bull****, but hey, that's your m.o. This was a good, relatively cheap, signing by Dallas. Dez was a safe pick at that point, and arguably the best receiver in the draft, so it will be interesting to see how he turns out.

Now I've heard it all. A bit defensive huh? I simply said that you should give credit when it's due, and you turn that into me being a puke fan? Either you are a very insecure person or one who reaches far too often. If you want to TRY to prove your outlandish statement that I am a closet cowboy fan then go right ahead. I honestly don't know where in my posting history that you'll find me supporting the cowboys (other than this thread in which I am merely stating the obvious that Dez Bryant is talented . . . and in any case, that isn't me offering my support of Dallas) . . . but whatever man, to each their own. You enjoy being an internet rabble-rouser.

DeMarco Murray 29
I love the signing. Gets him into camp Day 1 and he has time to work. Hope Tony can get him up to the speed of things. Way cheaper then I thought it would be. Finally back after a vacation out of the country

Don't worry, drama queen Dez will show up sooner or later. Since it wasn't at the signing, it looks like it'll be sometime during the season... Beans
Very good deal for the Cowboys. As much as I hate to say it, I think he is going to be an animal in the league. I just hope that he lets it all get to his head and becomes complacent or something . . . because he has all the physical tools to dominate. He's not fast at all. I read a couple of scouting reports that said due to his lack off speed he only projects to a #2 wideout. He fell so far for a reason, not the BS reasons the media espouses.
