Who bets on games?

I've never seen this topic on here before, so who here bets on Football? I used to a lot in college, but don't really do it that much anymore. However, I have correctly chosen the last 5 Super Bowls . What are your biggest wins, your most horrifying losses? I put a $20 dollar bet on Ohio State to win the national championship in July of 2002 at 25-1, which was unbelievable. I also took a 12-1 flier on the Skins to win the SB. I actually thought the Skins has the better chance then. My worst moment was the Ravens/Giants Snoozer Bowl. I teased the Ravens to like +4 and the under to like 42 and was going great until those back-to-back kickoff returns for TD's. (Of course all of this took place inside a casino;)

Anyways, any other gamblers out there? I'm not a degenerate, I swear:);)

I live in Vegas too but the only betting I do is to play the "Pick the Pros" contest that the Coast Casinos offers. ($25 in for the season, pick the winners for all the games each week without the spread for a chance at $40K in weekly prizes and $100K at seasons end.)

Been playing the past 3 seasons and haven't won a dime yet, but it sure is fun! :D

Got back from Vegas on Sunday visiting family. Didn't bet a dime on the Skins. Sigh.... woulda, coulda, shoulda. Bet with friends who are fans of other teams playing the skins. Other than that. Nope. Must be the jinx thing. :silly:

My first bet I lost $75 on the Redskins to the Raiders in the superbowl! The next bet I won $3,000 on Virginia -4 against Maryland, flew out to Vegas just to make the bet with a friend, it was some scam service's "lock of the year" back in around 1989. I moved to vegas to become a professional sports gambler (!) - seriously - I think I was having a mid-life crisis at the age of 25, looking back at it all! I ended up making $17,000 vs. the casinos in 1990 betting football, but lost $5,000 each at pro baseball and basketball, which I did not follow enough, just got too greedy and had to bet on everything! Since then I have bet now and then, lost over $20,000 on the Raiders against Baltimore in the AFC championship game a few yrs. ago, last year the Falcons did me in, couldn't believe they beat the Packers in the playoffs, in GB! My favorite betting moment was winning about $10,000 I thought I had lost on Michael Westbrook's hail mary catch for Colorado at Michigan, I had a 2-team parlay where the first game had won! Betting shortens you life though, the stress really kills, and gambling gets you sooner or later, sorry for the long post but I do have a whole lot of experience at NFL gambling...

Most Contrarian: correctly predicted Denver's first superbowl win.

Said if they run Terrell Davis down their throats, the aging Reggie White & heavy Gilbert Brown will fold in the fourth quarter.

Also mad enough to say youngster Terrell Davis was underated and good enough to do it. Terrell was fairly no-name.

And said anyone who thinks Farve has anything significant on Elway is bonkers. Elway at the time was the most maligned talent in football.

Devastating: lost a ten game/parley bet on one Philly/Dallas game.

I had Philly with more than a touchdown. With under a minute, and Philly driving inside the 30 for the winning touchdown and my +7 points in the bag. Cunningham threw an interception, returned for a touchdown. Cunningham & someone else, even caught the guy inside the other ten & missed with an absurd tackle & no time left!!!

Had to call Donald Trump & tell him I couldn't make it. Anyone remember that game?

I use to bet alot back in the 80's. I made a ton on the Skins, but now I bet for fun, not money. The Refs have TO MUCH CONTROL over the outcome of the games in the NFL these days, and IMO, are very biased.

The most I ever won was $1000 for Super Bowl 17.

The most I ever lost was $300 on Super Bowl 18. Eff you, Al Davis.
