Destructis
http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/news/story?id=5363544 Former New York Giants and Washington Redskins linebacker Antonio Pierce is joining ESPN as an NFL analyst after announcing his retirement from football. Espn adds another all around douche to their broadcasting.

ECU-ALUM
There is one thing I will never forget about Antonio: When Sean was shot...he blasted the media on live TV for the way they characterized and jumped to conclusions about Sean before they had all the facts. He went off...it was impressive to say the least.

kappaluvacee
I wish AP the best. The way he ran his mouth about the organization upon his exit has been proven to be justifiable. We had a complete idiot running the day-to-day ops and a fool in the owner's chair. Players in that Vinny era absolutely loved being redskins even though the organiization was being run like a dump. These players were genuinely hurt emotionally to be let go when they had love for a dump! To an extent, Lavar too!
ATLredskin
man F Laver and F Pierce...I don't know if I can watch ESPN anymore. I already hate the guys on NFL Network...man there has to be a 3rd option.

These players were genuinely hurt emotionally to be let go when they had love for a dump! To an extent, Lavar too! Good points here, I got to admit Pierce annoyed me and I thought he was overly bitter but as they say the opposite of love isn't hate but indifference. He clearly was upset the Redskins developed him into a good young player and then let him go to a division rival. From what I recall reading, Pierce gave the Skins a chance to match the Giants offer, and they turned it down.

ST is my boy
You know......I really feel bad for all the aspiring sportcasters out there. There is probably some great talent out there, and none of them have any shot at ever being someone. Any uneducated ex-player with a strong opinion (one that they probably dont even believe themselves), can swoop in and take any job they want at any time. No matter how bad they are (Emmit Smith). Its pretty stupid.

Rex Tomb
It appears to be that all you have to be, in order to make it on ESPN, is a Redskins/Dan Snyder hater. Sure, ESPN has no agenda - riiiight.
kappaluvacee
Are we sure about this? Yeah I'm sure of it. Re-read their comments and listen to what they are saying about the team without using your "Redskins Ears." Treat their comments as though they were coming from any other person other than a former redskins and you'll see they were hurt by the way they were treated. Lavar had to buy his way out of town even though his position coach was openly questioning his intelligence. Lavar was all caught up in being Mr. redskin once D. Green left. Yes he has some views I don't agree with, but I can't question the fact that he loved the team and his teammates with all his heart. He's so hurt he won't even attend a team function unless he gets to have a heart-to-heart with Snyder. Did we forget that Lavar once was so close to Snyder and dan's father that he was a paul bearer at his funeral. AP wanted to stay with the team, gave them a chance to match. Actually at the time Gregg Williams intimated to Vinny tha the could produce a capable replacement from within in much the same way he brough AP's progression along when he arrived. That's offensive to guys that watch you throw money at bums year after year (Archuletta, Brandon Lloyd etc). B Mitch - Vinny actually told Snyder that B Mitch was two years past his prime during his final season with the 'Skins. Vinny said B Mitch's value was nothing more than a special teams specialist which they were better suited at utilizing a player 10 years younger. To make matters worse Vinny told Dan nobody will even make an offer for B Mitch's services because it is widely known throughout the league that he's washed up. Vinny told Snyder that B Mitch would only serve as a locker room divider due to his connections with the previous two regimes. If you watch B Mitch on CSN you've heard him make all these points. He talked about it recently when he said he had a meeting with Snyder regarding the ROF induction. J. Jansen - He's been more quiet than the previous three listed, but he makes the same remarks. Is there any question that the Rock was redskins to the heart, only to be told that he was no longer capable of plaing in favor of Stephon Heyer? If we as fans know Stephon is nothing better than a back-up at best, what do you think the guys that play with him think about his ability to start at this level? andyburd
I don't blame AP for anything he said about the Skins, he was right by the way. Snyder treated him horrible, DS wouldn't sign him because he was a Marty guy. I think it's funny how all these people blast Pierce, because he was dead on about our sorry organization. We deserved everything we got, AP was a great player for us, and we should have resigned him for sure. When he left, our MLB situation was terrible until Fletch got here

If my memory serves.....The Redskins offered AP a very competitive offer around $21million but the Giants offer ended up being about $5mil more. For some reason he treated the situation as though the Redskins never offered him anything and chose to play it that way in the media Good riddance to him it's a good thing I don't watch ESPN anymore. dockeryfan
Pierce was one of my all time favorite players. I think he'll do great on TV. Hate on players after they leave? I understand why it's done, but I just don't get it personally. He made a business decision. Why take this to heart?

If he didn't care why would he still be so heated? I would agree though if he is going to try and be an impartial analyst he would probably have to tone that down. The only reason he made in the NFL was because he was such a student of the game. There likely isn't an up and coming sports caster in the country that understands the game of football as well as Antonio Pierce does.

SkinsNumberOne
Are we sure about this? Yes, because they got PAID. And if they didn't, they hated the Redskins. So not for the reasons the poster was saying. If you don't burn that bridge after you're "slighted" by not making the big "Redskin" money, maybe you can come back though (Fred Smoot). Thank goodness Vinny is gone.
