Met Haynesworth Today at CLT

As I was waiting for my flight from Charlotte to Memphis this afternoon I saw Haynesworth walk by where I was sitting so I had to go say something to him.

I walked over said whats up and shook his hand. I told him even though the media is going nuts about him not being at camp theres alot of us that dont care as long as hes good to go when the season starts.

He said, "man if you only knew the half of it" and told me he appreciated it. Seemed like a nice dude, he was packing a little girls suitcase full of toys he had just bought at some store in the airport so I just left it at that, said nice meeting you and take care of them Cowboys for us and walked away before giggling and texting like a school girl.

He looks like hes slimmed down quite a bit. Face looked skinnier, gut was gone and he looked about as lean as a guy his size could be.

From what I could tell just by looking at him hes held up his end of the deal.

Anyways, just thought the story was worth sharing. Go Skins!

Sounds good to me. You are now officially a more reliable source for Haynesworth information than PFT, Jason Reid, Chris Russell, and JLC.

Man I'm so sick of hearing the same rehashed, recycled AH non-news, glad to hear something fresh.

Thanks for sharing Monk.

I don't know enough about Haynesworth other than what I have seen on the football field to even begin to form any type of opinion about him off of the field.

However, I have noticed through the years that people who aren't very sociable tend to get a bad rap. And Haynesworth doesn't appear to have what you might call...the social skills.:)

Don't speak so quickly. One of the aforementioned will undoubtedly soon post an article citing an unnamed source who met with Albert in an airport and instead of working out Albert is playing with his doll collection while traveling the world.

I don't think that's true. From what I've seen he's got very good social skills, he seems very intelligent and well composed, his problem is he's just quiet. That doesn't mean he lacks social skills, just that he's more of an introvert. I always wonder if he's really all about the money and the stats and possibly more about him thinking and understanding what COMES from that. Again, intelligence over ego.

Per JLC: "According to a source close to the situation, Haynesworth invested a large sum of his signing bonus into a doll collection" about 4 hours ago via UberTwitter

Well the news of him in shape is good because if he showed up to mandatory camp outta shape that would just be the biggest middle finger of all time. So basically he is doing exactly what he told the coaches he was doing. Shocking news. Can't wait for mandatory camp so this all ends one way or another.

This thread made me sooo pumped, thank you OP for posting this.

I am going to say again what I have been saying all offseason, Shanny gave Big AL the ok to train offsite, the Skins players have backed him up and all this nonsense is just WJFK propaganda designed to hate on our Skins. Sure the Redskins would love to have Big AL in camp but the guy is a soldier and performed like a beast last year with a DC who had one foot out the door and obviously didnt get along with our star defensive player.

Big AL is a machine, he will create havok this year with a new defensive scheme and a coach who wants to get the most out of him. Our team last year was dysfunctional, Zorn was a dead man walking and most of the players underperformed and lost faith in our ability to be a top team. This year is something different, expect guys like Laron, Big AL, Orakpo, DMc5 etc to excel under SHanny. All the haters at the WP are going to have to learn to suck it up and become Skins fans again, how can you hate on Big AL when he is the first in to take on a whole team to defend his teammates. I will take #92 over any lineman in the league, he is a Redskin and will retire a Redskin and one of the best to ever play his position.

ATLredskin - who is that in your sig?

a famous porn star :drooley: see if u can find her noods!

during the offseason, reporters will spin any 'no shows' at camp (voluntary or otherwise) into some sort of 'Unhappiness message' being sent from the player to the team.

In a way, it was an unhappiness message, but we can blame Zorn's apparently incompetent training regime last year for not adequately preparing the players for the season. As evidenced by the poor conditioning and numerous injuries last year, this was quite clear. We gave AH a lot of **** for pulling all his fake 'injuries', but I'm sure the dude was just winded and embarrassed to come out because he was 'tired'

Rather than face a repeat of that embarrassing show this year, he wanted to return to form under a guaranteed program that worked for him in the past. Everybody has pride and nobody wants to look like a joke on the field. I'm sure he probably thought Shany would undoubtedly be an improvement, but it was still a risk, and far from being a sure thing.

On one hand, I think the 'right' thing would have been for him to come back and learn with the team as this would facilitate teamwork and learning the new schemes. However on the other hand, I also think that the defense is typically easy to pick up and is often way ahead of the offense in training camp, especially the d-line. So as long as he comes to camp in peak condition and come game time, is ready to go, then fine, I have no problem with what he did.
