Oldskool
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A64910-2003Aug15.html Redskins Notebook Smith to Start at Defensive End; Upshaw Sits Again By Mark Maske Washington Post Staff Writer Saturday, August 16, 2003; Page D04 Veteran Bruce Smith is slated to start at right defensive end for the Washington Redskins in tonight's preseason game against the New England Patriots at FedEx Field, with Regan Upshaw set to sit out a second straight game. Smith, Upshaw and middle linebacker Jeremiah Trotter -- all coming off knee surgeries -- were withheld from last Saturday's loss at Carolina. Smith and Trotter are scheduled to return tonight. Upshaw said recently his knee continues to bother him, but he expects to be ready for the regular season. Tailback Ladell Betts (sprained elbow) and wide receiver Darnerien McCants (pulled hamstring) also are to remain sidelined for a second straight game. The Redskins weren't certain yesterday whether wideout Cliff Russell, who has a sprained shoulder, would play. Wilbert Brown starts at center for Larry Moore, who tore the posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in practice on Monday. Guard Randy Thomas is scheduled to play despite being plagued by a sore knee in practice this week, and reserve linebacker Kevin Mitchell plans to play in spite of back soreness
tenaciousd
I'm sure Bruce can think up some mysterious injury by tonight.
freakofthesouth
I'll bet that ol' Bruce makes a big difference tonight all around on defense, dispite his pass-rush reputation and his injury.
