SkinsNumberOne
That wasnt the way I heard it. Maybe Im wrong but I thought you had to be stopped for some other infraction first. I.E. you run a red light and if the suspect you you get asked for proof that your in the state legally , in addition to the driver's license and registration that we all get asked for, for instance. So go on throw a fit. I DON"T CARE. Yes, I believe you are wrong. In some localities (including Prince William County), law enforcement is encouraged to ask "people they suspect to be illegal immigrants" for ID after they have been stopped for some other reason. The Arizona law (what I've seen of it) doesn't require any such reason. Instead, it appears that they are able to stop a person if they "suspect" them to be an illegal immigrant. That's a rather important distinction.

wantarace17
That is the entire distinction that concerns me. That is my only problem with this law. Same here. I have no problem with enforcing our borders but pulling someone over becasue they "Might" be illegal is just plain wrong. If obama did this republicans would be in an uproar about how socialist our country is becoming. what we should do is reenforce the border with National guard troops.
