Patrick86L
With Jay Feely scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent, and with the price of some kickers going up, the Jets signed former Dallas Cowboys kicker Nick Folk to a one-year deal on Tuesday. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4938775
schmitty_199
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4938775 Good move by the Jets imo. With a one year deal there's really not that much of a risk, with a potentially high reward. Folk was money his first couple years in Dallas, then after he had that surgery in the offseason he lost all confidence in his leg and became a headcase. As we all saw with Vanderjact, when a kicker loses his confidence sometimes they never recover.
DefenderoftheStar
This is going to irk me for quite some time. Not happy about this and I feel it was more injury than mental as most people jumped to.

Folk was good, but he was a big reason why our kickoff coverege units sucked. I think he was a bit rattled when we drafted Buehler, so I think it was best for everyone that we went seperate ways. I think he was a bit rattled when we drafted Buehler, so I think it was best for everyone that we went seperate ways. I am only having a hard time with that because not to long ago he had ice in his veins. Now i know the mind can shift and we can never predict, but he was told why Beuhler was brought in and that it didnt affect him in the slightest, so I cant (want) to see how it got to him mentally. I know Jimmy Johnson jumped on this and said that "once kickers get mentally screwed in the head' that they are done, and most of the times that is right, but i really really really wanted it to not be the case this time around. sideshow24
I thought his mechanics changed after the surgery and he'd just have to adjust which would take some time.
Santana_Fan
And my friend is a Jet's fan, and is pissed off with this move. He thinks this is the rebirth of Mike Nugent lol

HeHateMe
Folk should bounce back at some point in his career. He's young and will be around for a while. As for the Cowboys, if the Jets are letting Feely walk, I'd love to bring him to Dallas for a shot at the FG spot. He was pretty darn solid all season for the Jets kicking very well in the Meadowlands and other tough spots (Buffalo/New England). He did choke a bit in the playoffs but he's good. Surely much better than anything we have now.
