Agree, I have always said that I have no problem replacing JC. Just make sure you bring someone in that is better than he is.

Edit: That said, this whole thing doesn't make sense from the standpoint of next season.

What I mean by that is why trade JC? I see the other trades, but not the one with JC. Both Allen and Shanny have stated that they do not want to rebuild. Dumping JC equals rebuilding. And, please having TC and Colt means rebuilding. Also, keeping JC does not mean not drafting a future replacement QB.

Teams are always in some form of rebuild, free agency forces teams into it one way or the other.

How can we not rebuild the O-line?

And if we don't need to rebuild then just how bad is JC?

I am always puzzled by the statement that unless we can find someone better we shouldn't get rid of JC, how can we do worse than JC? And even if we did, how much worse could we possibly be?????????????????

pennington is a much better QB than campbell, regardless of his arm strength. arm strength doesnt mean much if youre not accurate. jamarcus russell has the strongest arm in the NFL, and hes an abomination of a QB.

Sorry BLC while I agree with the 'move on from the Campbell era' sentiment, the reality is he will be the starting QB week 1 next year. He's the insurance policy - against the Rams taking Bradford, against a Bradford holdout, against complications from his surgery, and to absorb a beating while the OL gels for 6 or 7 games and the playbook sinks into the rooks head. Then it's Sammy's show for the next decade+. Just a little more patience, it'll be worth it

Jason Campbell has 52Games 38Interceptions and 55Touchdowns.

If Jason Campbell were slower, had a weaker arm, threw more interceptions, less touchdowns, completed less passes, and averaged less yards per attempt... they'd be even.

I also don't think Campbell has proven he is our future at all. He has proven, in my opinion, that he is a tough, competive average QB when given time to throw, which is why I think as someone else said, he will be brought back until Allen and Shanahan find "their guy" to QB this team into the future. Who that ends up being; don't have clue (which is the way it should be - football people making football decisions).

if hes there starting on day one i wont be taking this team seriously until hes gone. i will have zero expectations and be very disappointed. itll just be more of the same. and i cant wait til the fan club starts the raining "well he needs to learn the system" excuses. i havent heard those since the beginning of 08, itll be a nice welcome change! lol

I have no problem with a new QB getting tossed into the fire on day one.

That being said, I have reservations starting any rookie QB behind our current Swiss cheese line or a newly revamped unproven O-line. It'd be like racing a new car on rusted warn out chassis and old tires.

I don't believe the Randy Moss trade for a second I believe it was Santana and Landry for B. Marshall which again I love.

That would give us Marshall, 41st pick(BUF) and Whitner and all we give up is Moss,Landry, campbell i say do it.

Is Whitner a true FS because we don't need another SS.

This would almost guarantee we draft a QB in the draft though. Hope we draft and get some immediate upgrades for our O-line though otherwise, I am not real comfortable putting any of our QB back there.
