S.T.real,lights,out
I'd take neither. Both will demand contracts that they're not worthy of. Bush is more of a receiver than a RB, and he sucks at pass protection. Sproles is a great player as a return man and scatback, but he's not a 3 down back, and if some team wanted to make him a 3 down back, he would get broken in half before the end of the season due to to the hits he'd take. Let some other dumb team overpay for them I dont agree at all! When he was given the chance to play he's been great. He's small and very shifty so it's hard to get a good clean hit on him. He won't get us the 3 and 1's all the time but he's a major upgrade over what we have now. I would def take him!

Morneblade
It would be hard to be more wrong being that he already has made it in the NFL. This will be his 5th NFL season. It's Peck. I think he lives eleswhere. As in a alternate reality.
Renegade7
Um, isn't this an uncapped year? We do not have a running back like Sproles on the roster, so I don't understand the logic of being cheap this year when this is the one time we can spend as much money as we want. Make his contract cap friendly with a nice signing bonus. Push as much of the money we'd owe him into this offseason as we can. We need more talent if we want to win the superbowl. We can still spend money and be smart about it. This is the one year where we'd forever regret being cheap. edit: if Bush gets released, get both, same thing. Giants had a three-headed monster at running back in the superbowl. Keep everybody fresh on and the defense on their heels, do it.
Sebowski
With all the need for a change of pace back, I thought this might be worth a new thread. Per PFT, the San Diego Union Tribune is reporting that Sproles will not receive a tender as a RFA, and will either be signed to a long term deal, or hit the FA market. Looks like we may have our choice of Sproles or Bush, and I'd take Sproles in a heart beat. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/02/23/report-sproles-wont-be-back-on-one-year-deal/ Don't you mean "per the San Diego Union Tribune"? ohioskins
San Diego is going to have who as a RB? How about Portis? If your rebuilding then rebuild.
theboomking
Don't you mean "per the San Diego Union Tribune"? ?? I guess, but I didn't verify the link to the San Diego Tribune, and read PFT's take on the article, not the actual article. :pfft:

skinfan2k
RB is the easiest position in the NFL. If i were a franchise, I would draft a RB every 2 years
flexxskins
I'd take neither. Both will demand contracts that they're not worthy of. First of all, you're not a swammy so you don't know what they are going to demand. So stop it.:pfft:Bush is more of a receiver than a RB, and he sucks at pass protection. Every back is not perfect and cannot do every single thing that we need/want him to do in the backfield. This is why we have other backs like say Clinton Portis. Some of us have to stop thinking that we can afford to be so darn choosy to where we are able to not even consider players with Reggie Bush's talent, simply because he catches well out of the backfield, but pass blocks poorly. Come on man. Sproles is a great player as a return man and scatback, but he's not a 3 down back, and if some team wanted to make him a 3 down back, he would get broken in half before the end of the season due to to the hits he'd take. Let some other dumb team overpay for themUmm, who even suggested that we use Sproles (or Bush for that matter) as "a 3 down back"? Where are you getting that from?I think members here are suggesting that Sproles would be a good addition and change of pace back to our backfield. Who knows, with a zone type of o-line blocking...backs like Sproles and Bush might excel.:whoknows:
