Audible_Red40
http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=jc-directsnap022210&prov=yhoo&type=lgns Nothing really new here, but a good read none the less. Mods, please feel free to move as it is not specificallly related to the Redskins, but QB's none the less. The 3 steps pointed out: Step 1: Understand the player’s faults Step 2: Build around the quarterback Step 3: Follow a plan on offense Alex Smith and JC have a a couple things in common. I think drafting a QB now with the likes of Shanahan here would be beneficial because we can build around him and have the offensive plan in place. I still think JC could play well (not elite) in this system and think we should build around him. Life is not fair, but with the constant changing of coaches and systems, we are certainly destined to fail, which we have done over the years. Building around the QB!! What have we done to live up to that? Not play rookies. Bring in punt returners to be our WR's. Change an elusive back to a power back. Don't address the O-line, etc etc. None the less, I liked the article. If we choose to go QB, I like our chances in the future. But I still feel with introducing JC to another new system and keeping it in place and building around him and the system we could be productive on O as well. Hail! Riggo#44
Arizona quarterback Matt Leinart will have much to prove as he enters his fifth season in the NFL and replaces Kurt Warner as the Cardinals starter. One teammate recently gave Leinart little chance to become a successful player or even a good leader. “A complete [soft guy],” one Cardinals player said. Ouch. Wow... alwaysaskin
Good Article. I think Alex Smith and Jason have a lot in common, in looking at their NFL Career archs. Gibbs wanted Campbell to run a Coryell Offense, however he started in the Saunders system, then we got the Jim Zorn head up ass system. We finally got two pass catchers to go along with Moss in 2008 and I think Campbell and Devin Thomas are developing well together. Not only that but we stuck JC with the RB answer to TO in Clinton Portis. Finally we neglected the O-Line and almost got Jason killed in the last two years. As for the Leinart Quote, harsh but spot on, I'd throw up if we traded Campbell for Leinart
