Perky72
I collected from about '86 to '01, but left the scene when the packs got more expensive with fewer cards. I didn't collect to score valuable cards (good thing, because I didn't get many!) but just to get cool sets, with cool info on the back and cool photos. And to collect my favorite players, which were Andre Dawson, Malone/Stockton, Carlos Delgado, Fred McGriff, Barry Sanders, Wade Boggs, Darnay Scott (heh), Juan Gonzalez, and Jason Kidd. Other favorite were Art Monk and Darrell Green, but almost never saw any of their cards. My favorites are Dawson and Boggs rookies, and a Ralph Samson I'd gotten as a teen. And a Jason Kidd that's worthless but has an amazing front photo. I also sent some to some players and a lot of them sent back autographed cards--favorites from that are Dawson, Will Clark, Jeff Blake, and Tim Brown. My least favorite card is one of the more valuable, an autographed (from the pack, sure didn't ask him)...Michael Irvin. I know, I should burn it. Not too many great trading stories; my buddies in high school used to play poker and would bet cards too. I remember feeling amazing for winning a Cory Snyder rookie :drooley:On the other hand I traded a rookie Bonds for a rookie Will Clark. Only sold one, a rookie Cal Ripken, because I needed a new fishing pole, tackle box, and lures. Don't really regret it though, was never a big fan. Anyone collect nowadays? Collect favorite players, or teams? Is it all expensive now, or are there some el cheapo products? I tried to collect Redskins but there never seemed to be much of them out there. Also collected UVa grads.
MattFancy
I used to be big into baseball cards. One summer a few years ago me and a friend were buying tons of cards off ebay, came across some good deals. My favorite card has to be my Ripken rookie card. I always have a few Pujols, Griffey, Bonds, Ichiro, Jeter, and A-Rod rookies.
Ned Flanders
I used to be into collecting cards pretty heavily. I collected from 1980-2006, then I gave up on wax. My favorite card out of everything I have, is my 1981 Art Monk Topps Rookie card that I pulled myself. I got out of cards, and now I collect game used jerseys! REDSKINS only!
