SkinsBrewCrew
D.Hall > C.Rogers I always knew that there was something about Hall that I liked. Not because he grew up a Skins fan, or that he had lived in the area... now I know.... we both think Green was and still is, a better CB than D.Sanders. I've stated this from day one, and some still say to this day that I'm incorrect. You know who you are... Rogers is NOT better than Hall... Rogers on his best day, could never be better than Hall. after this offseason training with D.Green, it won't just be an opinion... it'll be FACT. ZOMG!!! THIS JUST IN! ....Campbell still sucks. SkinsBrewCrew
It's a fact to me already. Tis to me too... but there are others, and even with the facts in their face, will find some stupid reason to argue it.
No_Pressure
He should be training with London Fletcher on tackling drills. The guy has good cover skills, and certainly training with DG would make him better, but the big knock on the guy is he can't play physical. He couldn't take down Jake Delhomme I mean c'mon thats like not being able to tackle a punter. (He is training with him right? Or was that Rogers?) SkinsHokieFan
D-Hall is a physical freak of an athlete. If he could just quit runing locker rooms, he'd be one of my favorite Hokies of all time

I've seen him take down RBs twice his weight and size, and WRs bigger than him, and the knock that ppl want to bring up is that bad angled tackle on Jake. I mean c'mon.... what about the INT he had in that game?
Agent Three
DLo is by far greater than Stonehands, in athleticism, skills, heart, passion, etc. Though I do hope Carlos can get back to playing the way he was a few years ago... he use to be my favorite player on D when he was shutting it down, making the big hits, and just straight swag surfing. I really like Hall, he's a playmaker and has great instincts, he always knows where the ball is going to be. I'd take him over Rogers any day of the week. Buuuuuut....he sucks at tackling, it's more than just the Delhomme ordeal. He tries to bring down guys with just his arms all the time. If he takes his tackling up a notch he will be outstanding this year.

Dude, all that you had to do was say that he's training with Green, which Tryon has already done. Is Tryon better than Rogers? I'm not even defending Rogers here; I'm just pointing out your BS "argument." And your edited shot at Campbell has nothing to do with the thread at all. You know what we call that? Trolling. Your crap wasn't worth your information.

McD5
Prime Time? If he was practicing with Deion, I would get excited. That would mean he is elite. Revis comes to mind. With D Green? Not so much. Deion must have been busy.
Hitman21ST
Just out of curiousity, why do you say D.Green is better than D.Sanders? Green was the better tackler, and faster, but Sanders effectively shut down half the field. I never considered Green to be a "shutdown" corner. Good in coverage, good tackler, world class speed, though.
Laxpunk2006
I think as a whole Hall probably is a better CB than Rogers but they're two different styles of player. Rogers is more of a physical-man coverage player while Hall is more of a soft one-off coverage guy that is going to jump routes. Both can be extremely effective in the appropriate role. Same position but two completely different styles of playing it.

Green was a much better tackler & hitter than Sanders but who wasn't. I don't understand how you didn't consider Green a shutdown corner when must of his 20 yr career he shutdown every teams best receiver. Of course must people in the media whould probably say Sanders but that is mainly because he was a showboat (self promoter) & he played for the Cowgirls & we know how the media loves showboats (self promoters) & Cowgirl players. I saw him make some clean open-field tackles against Michael Turner in the Falcons games, and a few others as well (can't really remember who though.) But for every solid, well performed tackle he seems to have one weak arm tackle (Mario Manningham.)
RiggosMohawk
With his physical skill-set, I have never understood when DH did not want to or succeed playing bump & run. To me that's the epitome of the premier shutdown corner. It's saying 'I will give you no cushion and blanket your *** all over this field'. And if the greatest CB debate is going to continue, you better not forget about Rod Woodson.

Ok, I'm a homer.. but tis fact... Green>Sanders... one played for 20 years, and one didnt. a few years back rogers work with green too.. but it didnt really improve much You can lead a horse to water... also, I'm pretty sure that rookie CB that trained with Green last offseason... has more INTs than Rogers. Hall getting juked and trucked by Jake Delhomme was probably the single most humiliating play of a 4-12 season. I think I'd get in trouble if I described it more accurately. Dude is a punk that is all talk. He talked all last offseason about his stupid boxing training. Yeah, DHall catches balls after he gets beat and the pass is thrown behind the streaking receiver, but any halfway decent CB should be able to do that. Justin Tryon could probably make those same plays. Just because Rogers drops picks all the time doesn't mean DHall is great because he catches the same balls. They are what they are, two corners who are okay at certain aspects of the position. You put them both together and you have a really good CB, right now we have two decent CBs (at best). Springs was the best CB we've had in recent memory when he was playing. Hated to see him go but he could never get healthy so whatever. He kinda had a punk attitude, too. We gotta stop overrating all of our crappy players. Even if DHall was playing really good, he'd be a CB playing really good on a crappy team, which is worthless.
