THE HAMMER'IN HOG
Your opinion is your own, of course. But I think that if the Giants had not had that sack and pressure fest on Brady, the game wouldn't have even been close. Again, we're talking about one of the best QBs ever and a legendary offense. Your post said "regardless of the circumstances" when talking about how a great or intelligent QB will fare. As far as his line, they weren't sub-par or "inferior". Brady actually had good protection most of the year. For some reason, the Pats OL just couldn't keep up with the Giants pass rush and tactics; they fell apart and suddenly the guy who had 50 passing TDs in 16 games had one, and an offense that had been putting up a ridiculous amount of points all season was stifled. Actually my post was many do not undestand how much a QB can affect a game REGARDLESS OF THE CIRCUMSTANCES, huge difference, what is being lost is Brady was in the SB, JC can't get out of his own way, has JC ever had us in a position to win against the Giants? Ever? Was the Giant defense that dominant all season? No, which means the Patriot offensive line was nothing special, but was made to look so by the ability of Brady to read and react quickly, and that is how a QB can make his O-line a whole lot better. Not that there has been a shining example of that in DC in the last 10 years.
Fat Stupid Loser
That has been disproven time and time again since the season ended. JC scored 16 of his touchdowns before the 4th quarter, passed for more yardage in the 3rd quarter than the 4th quarter and had a quarterback rating and passing percentage higher in the 3rd than 4th quarter. All of his best stats came before "garbage time at the end of the game". Garbage time for this team is anything after about midway through the second quarter. When we have 0 points and the other team has alot. Whenever you are out of the game, its garbage time. In our case, that's way before the fourth quarter. Fat Stupid Loser
What if Shanny really thinks JC is the guy and we pass on QB in the 1st...then over half of ES will start F Shanny Threads...LOL That's when I deinvest myself in the pro game for a while. I just can't watch it again.

We were always usually trailing because this offense is stagnant.

That doesn't apply to 12 of our games last year. We lost 8 of our games last season by a touchdown or less. There were 4 games last year where we way behind at the half, 1st Eagles game, the Atlanta game, 2nd Giants game and the 2nd Dallas game by 14. 757SeanTaylor21
:doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh:It's been real guys. On the bright side, at least we don't have Jamarcus Russell. EDIT: I don't like the fact that he acts as if he had a great season despite his team dragging him down. He may not have meant that, but that's how I read it. He seems to have that attitude that it's not all his fault. Granted, it's not, but he needs to act more like a leader and say, "We didn't play well as a team, and it starts with me. I'm going to regroup this offseason and work on my weaknesses." what really defines a leader? one who speaks publicly? moses in the bible was a GREAT leader and couldnt speak well. i hear all the jason isnt a great leader, well leaders can either motivate by speakin or by performing. now to say the least we all know hes not a very FOCAL leader, but in the same since...puttin up decent numbers and actin professional and not throwin anybody under the bus can show leadership. his o-line was in shambles, i know that you do to. WE DO. but thing is what will really happen if jason goes behind a line that can actually block for a 5step 7step drop? i remember goin 12-20. jason with TIME goes 6-2. jason with no time, goes 2-6, 4-12. so to me what does that say we need to do? give jason TIME TO THROW. Loco Bob
One thing about the plan is pretty clear and it's really not up to JC or Shanny/Allen, it's up to some team that might come along and offer up a pick(s) that we can't refuse. We know this, one of three things will happen. We either get something for him this year, he walks free in 2011 or he plays out a 1-year contract. I still say JC will be taking the snaps when Mike retires at the end of the contract.

You see to me garbage time is when a QB has 256 yards and is the top passer in that game and it is the kicker who gets us the 6 points and we lose the game by a point.

Newera
So you seriously don't trust that Shanahan just might know what he is doing? He has a pretty good track record with QBs. A pretty good track record in general. If he were sitting there right now and said to you "I think Jason is the best option we have right now and, from what I've seen, I think I could help make him into an excellent QB" would you just laugh and say "You have no clue what you're talking about, Shanny! Campbell is garbage! Just check out ES and you'll see the truth!"? The problem with Jason is the one year left coupled with his still up in the air results. Any quarterback worth is salt is locked up before becoming a restricted free agent. Teams don't let good quarterbacks float. Typically if you're going to extend a guy, you do it before he becomes a restricted free agent. The last thing the Redskins want is to draft a young QB and have Jason excel giving him all the leverage in the world and the ability to walk in 2011 for nothing. They won't franchise him after having an early pick in camp. I don't personally think that is going to happen because I'm not the biggest Jason fan. I think he's an average quarterback. Jason's most value to the Redskins is this offseason. After next year he is free to leave with no compensation if we keep him. Obviously the drafted rookie will be the future. Jason already has five years on that guy. You're just not going to invest heavily in him at this juncture. His record is spotty. Plus, I'm sure the Shanahans want their hand picked guy. That's common sense. We may have the pick of the litter of quarterbacks at four. I think if the Skins can draft their future offensive left tackle and quarterback one and two, they will look to trade Jason for a mid-round pick to help bolster the offensive line. And, will sign a vet back up to start early. Chances are Jason has played his way more into a sometimes starter back up quarterback in this league. He just does not have much leverage now. I think one thing you're missing MisterTim is shanny has a 5 year contract and unlike Zorn I think shanny knows he has more control to do what he wants personnel wise. And another point if Shanny really trusted JC so much then why haven't we locked him up already? Franchise qb's that you plan to keep long term don't get stuck dangling in the wind wondering what their future holds. I would take it to the bank that we draft a new qb and let JC go somewhere else in favor of the draft pick compensation.

Atlass
Let he who knows more about football than Mike Shanahan and his coaching staff stand up now. Otherwise, trust the coaching staff to do the right things. Don't believe anything until it happens. Good point. Criticize the move IF it happens and you feel raw about it. Why bother getting all amped against it now when all you have is a rumor. Shanny will put a 1st round tender on Campbell, if a team offers him a first he will take it. Right now he is saying how good his QB is and how he fits in the system, but don't let that fool you. Shanny will do what's best for the team. Passizle
I read this article and just had no more emotion in me to even be stirred up. I want this QB thing to be all over like NOW. While I do have a preference I'll root for whoever is behind center. And JC we know you had no O-line. We watched all 16 games. Don't keep reminding us in every interview how average you were behind a horrible o-line. JC never mentioned his line so I see no cause to react the way you did.
