ESPN: Skins' Campbell won't go quietly

If that's the plan then... Well we already know how bad it can get so WTF lets try it again. Second verse same as the first.

The more I read coming out of Redskin Park the more confidence I lose. A perfect rebuilding time is upon us and it's the SOS. So I guess the excuse next offseason is Campbell was playing behind a young inexperienced line, things will be better in year 2 under Shanny.

Hmm, you must be 1 that wants to draft a qb w/our #4 pick? I say thats kinda stupid considering thats not a top priority. I love how the Campbell bashers say "so how many excuses are we gunna hear after this season w/Shanahan?" or "It will be funny when Campbell gets traded or released" which isn't gunna happen he's our starting qb. No time in pocket translates into not many good or great play.

but would any team seriously trade a top draft pick for campbell?

BLC, with the lack of QBs on the FA front, I believe some team will ante up and think they can develop the strong armed, decent nimble foot, no sliding QB JC into a legit NFL caliber QB. IMO, he will never be.

Players haven't given interviews??? Coaches haven't made any comments??? Redskin Park hasn't become Fort Knox my friend. I'm not making assumptions or guessing about what's going to happen I commented on whats concrete.

Hope you're right in your last statement.

What do players really know? Honestly, we've heard from a few guys here and there about how they're excited to play for a Super Bowl winning coach. But they don't really know what the FO is going to do, and they have no say in what they're going to do.

And to be perfectly honest, nope. We have heard barely any comments from the coaches. Other than the running back coach stating that Portis might have something left, we've really heard nothing from our coaches to indicate what they may be thinking. Correct me if I'm wrong anyone, but I don't think anyone has heard from Shanahan since his press conference.

And yes, I am right. ;) Shanahan's history with Brian Griese and Jake Plummer shows that he makes guys play better, but that he's more than willing to ship them out if he believes they cannot get the job done. This led to them eventually getting Jay Cutler, who was a slamdunk in Denver. Chicago? Not so far. But Jay Cutler was something else in Denver.

Shanahan is a shrewd coach who will do what it takes to win, and has no qualms about hurting players' feelings if they're not going to be a part of the solution.

Relax and have a bit of faith man. This is different from Ole' Ball Coach, Gibbs, and Zorn. Much different.

I was referring to your sarcastic remark about JC's "great play" with a Pro-Bowl LT. I should have wrote "great play" not Pro-Bowl.

Samuels was injured twice in 2008. The first time was in early Oct. before the season unraveled. And so far as Jones playing as well as Samuels. His play was horrid. :ols:

I figured that's what you meant :) Not saying you said Jones was playing as well bu there were others and I agree with your observation of Jones play.

I'm familiar with his work in Denver and his not so great work with QB's in LA. I always HOPE for the best but I also hope to win the Mega Millions every Tuesday and Friday :) Sometimes hope and reality go in different directions.

What we need is a dominant o-line, a great defense, and two of the best running-backs in the NFL for Campbell to "lead" us to a winning record.

Don't forget the h.o.f. receivers Jerry Rice,Art Monk and Lynn Swann;)

If that's the plan, it's time to draw up a new one.

Hail.

I'm definitely excited to see who they bring in as JC's competition at QB. The thought of him as the defacto starter again this upcoing season, does not leave me feeling insipired.

One of the best QBs to probably ever play the game running one of the most potent offenses to ever step on the field got his ass handed to him a couple years ago when his OL broke down in the SB. So yeah, "regardless of the circumstances" is complete nonsense.

What a joke of a quote!

He lost the SB with an inferior O-line, but yet he still made it to the SB? JC can't do better than 4-11 against the easiest schedule in the history of the NFL, what a joke of a comparison? But what ever you say???????????????

Brady lost the SB by 3 points, and had his team in a position to win that game with less than 2 minutes to play, with an inferior offensive line, if that was JC all we would hear is how the defense lost the game, not JC's inability to put the ball in the end zone.

No need.

If he is, the "lol's" will all be on us. :(.

Hail.

So you seriously don't trust that Shanahan just might know what he is doing? He has a pretty good track record with QBs. A pretty good track record in general. If he were sitting there right now and said to you "I think Jason is the best option we have right now and, from what I've seen, I think I could help make him into an excellent QB" would you just laugh and say "You have no clue what you're talking about, Shanny! Campbell is garbage! Just check out ES and you'll see the truth!"?

Your opinion is your own, of course. But I think that if the Giants had not had that sack and pressure fest on Brady, the game wouldn't have even been close. Again, we're talking about one of the best QBs ever and a legendary offense. Your post said "regardless of the circumstances" when talking about how a great or intelligent QB will fare. As far as his line, they weren't sub-par or "inferior". Brady actually had good protection most of the year. For some reason, the Pats OL just couldn't keep up with the Giants pass rush and tactics; they fell apart and suddenly the guy who had 50 passing TDs in 16 games had one, and an offense that had been putting up a ridiculous amount of points all season was stifled.

Do you honestly think shanny is going to sit down and say he thinks JC is a big time QB? Because that is the only reason to keep him other than making him a meatbag until something better comes along, just because JC may stick around is more of an indictment on how bad our QB situation may be, rather than how good JC may be.

Thanks for actually addressing my question and not being a smartass and dodging it or anything.

Give a plausible question and I'll give it a serious answer.

Instead of, IMHO, insulting a two time SB winning Coach by insinuating he'd seriously think he could turn an average, game managing fraud of a first round QB into something "excellent."

Coach Mike's good, but he's no miracle worker.

Hail.

*Edit* For the record, aside from the great comedy moment of Jason becoming "excellent"; IF Shanahan decided to go with Campbell next year, I'd be down with that, so much respect do I have for the man. I wouldn't be at all happy, but I'd be down with it, safe in the knowledge that it was only a temporary thing to better times ahead while he grooms his new guy.

I think JC is a nice guy but I dont think he is the answer at QB. Hey JC your numbers were up because you had a alot garbage time stats that you picked at the end of games that we were losing.

That has been disproven time and time again since the season ended. JC scored 16 of his touchdowns before the 4th quarter, passed for more yardage in the 3rd quarter than the 4th quarter and had a quarterback rating and passing percentage higher in the 3rd than 4th quarter. All of his best stats came before "garbage time at the end of the game".
