Westbrook36
In regards to Miles Austin: "We don't need to use the franchise tag," Stephen Jones said. "How many times have [you] seen another team give up a one and a three?" I wonder if after he said that he realized the Cowboys gave up a 1, 3 and 5 for RW. Talk about ultimate fail on his part. :ols:

@DCGoldPants
It is weird how ownership like the Rooney's who have been part of the NFL forever still feel the need to hire a GM. Then other teams think that ownership equals ability to do the job. This just makes me thankful that Snyder apparently has stepped back.
bushwack
I actually think that he's quite capable. I have a feeling that once he takes over the Cowboys will be in much better hands... I can agree with this with one major stipulation, and that stipulation is if Stephen hires a real GM who knows football, unlike what JJ is doing and not allowing his huge ego to take a step back and let the real football people do their jobs. However, if Stephen believes he can play the GM role like his father then the Cowboys will continue to be on the outside looking in when it comes to winning the Super Bowl. Hitman21ST
Which is just fine to me. They can be on the outside for the rest of the history of the NFL for all I care.

Your probably right, I hate to say it. Jerry just has not listened to him so far. Some of his previous statements were pretty surprising and not in line with pappa's company line. HeHateMe
Thank goodness Jones and Co. hit a grand slam with finding Austin to offset the Williams debacle.
DefenderoftheStar
I think in all honesty he said that while rolling his eyes at his father. Not to say Skin fans have been right about what they say in regards to JJ, but I think Stephen knows hes getting the reigns soon and has bigger plans for the Cowboys and hopefully, this is my personal dream, less hands on approach. All speculation and opinion trademarked by DotS.

TheItalianStallion
Heh. The Stephen Jones I'm familiar with is that college professor who thinks 9/11 was an inside job.
DeMarco Murray 29
Thank goodness Jones and Co. hit a grand slam with finding Austin to offset the Williams debacle. Dallas has been lucky to hit on a lot of Undrafted/Late round picks to compensate for a lot of missed picks. Romo sits to pee, Austin, Crayton, Ratliff, Ball, Bowen to name a few
