ArmchairRedskin
I did? Seriously? Wow, you must have been looking in my living room window.....Except for the fact I dont get the NFL Network. :pfft: I'm just very familiar with the Clausen family. Jimmy's two older brothers went to UT (which is my college team) and while they were in college, Jimmy was already getting alot of coaching from private QB coaches. I though Casey (the eldest of the 3) would turn out to be a pretty good pro QB but it didnt happen. Rick was a transfer from LSU but wasnt the QB Casey was. That and I remember the hoopla around Marinovich, AKA RoboQB because he had been groomed since birth. Hence the comparison. You do have the internet don't you? That's how I saw the segment. Funny how you made the connection on this board after that segment mentioned it. But hey, if you wanna claim that you've connected some sort of insightful dots, then more power to ya buddy. I don't really care either way.
Slacky McSlackAss
I definitely would like to see Claussen as a Skin. He's got the heart and skills that a true leader needs. Able to take a hit and still deliver a pass, also has experience in a pro-style offense. Since Chase is gone, I say we convert the Church of Chase to the Church of Claussen. I don't really care either way. When did the segment air, and who said it? Nm, I guess I can go over there and check it out. What should I be looking for? And yes, since I did come up with it on my own I WILL claim that I have. One thing about is that I come up with my own ideas on my own. Now, whether or not it's a good thing is debateable. Some people would say VERY debatable.
peanut0862
The skins lost enough this season, they dont need to bring in another loser like Clausen. Plus the guy has no swag. The skins need swag! I don't know witch if either QB they take but this is the first time I seen Clausen described not haveing enough swagger

The guy is emotional, exciting, and a play maker. He's got swag.

Chump Bailey
Clausen may have a better overall skillset than Sam, but I am wary of the leadership questions. Sam seems like a very good leader and IMO that trumps the small physical ability margin between the two.
Hitman21ST
The Castle of Clausenâ„¢? :king: Not bad, but a castle doesn't represent a group of people. Clan, Church, Cult, and Wagon (as in bandwagon) all represent a group. Now, to stick with the castle theme, you could go with the Court of Clausen, that might stick. HigSkin
http://blog.redskins.com/2010/02/17/mel-kiper-changes-his-tune-jimmy-clausen/ Mel Kiper Changes His Tune: Jimmy Clausen Posted Feb 17th 2010 3:12PM byMatt Terl When last we checked in with ESPN's Mel Kiper, the well-coiffed draft guru was predicting that the Redskins would select Sam Bradford, quarterback out of Oklahoma, with the fourth overall pick in the upcoming draft. With version 2.0 of his draft now on the record, Kiper's in the same QB-tastic church, just at a slightly different pew: Kiper now predicts the Redskins will select Jimmy Clausen, QB out of Notre Dame. John Keim of the Washington Examiner has Kiper's reasoning FOR Clausen: "Jimmy is as competitive as it gets," Kiper said. "His accuracy is outstanding; his arm strength is good. ... To me, there are no questions about his competitiveness and leadership." And his argument AGAINST Bradford: "The issues I have with Sam is that we haven't seen him in an NFL setting, where there's pressure and you have to throw into small windows," Kiper said. "Bradford and Clausen are right there; you just have to decide which one you want." It certainly seems to me that we haven't actually seen Clausen in an NFL setting either, but maybe I'm taking Kiper's points too literally. Wes Bunting of the National Football Post, meanwhile, doesn't even have Clausen in his Top 30 draftable players, and ESPN's OTHER well-coiffed draft guru, Todd McShay, doesn't have Clausen going in the first round of his latest mock. (McShay, for the record, has the Redskins selecting offensive tackle Anthony Davis out of Rutgers.) So saying opinions are divided on this guy would be an understatement. And Clausen won't be throwing at the Scouting Combine next week, so don't expect more clarity at that point. I'm not going to claim to have exhaustively scouted Clausen, but -- even if I were looking for a quarterback -- I feel like the fourth overall pick should be used on as close to a sure thing as you can find. A guy who some people don't even project as a first-rounder doesn't seem to fit that bill.

Skins93077
This is the best part of having shanahan and allen!!! No1 knows exactly what our intentions are!!! For once in a long time people view us with respect when it comes to trading or picking in the draft. The way its panning out is this.... Buffalo want a qb... Hell ill trade campbell for there 2nd in a heart beat. But we could also trade down with them and get some picks with them. Also, trade with seattle for a future 2nd or 1st. San fran as well. The possibilities are endless. All these mocks show is that there are allot of ???? And little answers. The rams who do they pick could set the tone on what will happen. Ill all for clausen or bradford or davis, bulaga campbell but with the 4th pick shanny has to be spot on.
Hitman21ST
How about the Clausen Covenent ?Or the Covenent of Clausen ? A little too long to say. Needs to roll of the tongue and be quick and easy. Covenent takes a while to spit out.
