sonnyjz
i like both Bradford & Clausen, but i think Clausen will show himself to be the better qb over the next decade I completely agree. I think the kid can play and would celebrate if the 'skins took this pick.
The Robert Griffin Experience
My dream scenario - The Seahawks fall in love with Bradford and decide they will do whatever it takes to get him. Bradford is sitting at #4. We take Bradford at #4, and trade him for #6 (Clausen) and #14 (Bulaga). Davis over Okung is interesting, as he probably does have more upside, and I think you can afford to draft upside with linemen, as linemen don't have the floor that a QB does (can move positions, will usually turn out at least okay unless he's a headcase). I still say Bulaga's the best OT in the draft though.

scruffylookin
I'll defer to ShanAllen on the pick. If they decide to select a QB at 4, I'll trust them that the guy is worthy of the pick. If they pass on the QBs and go with a lineman, I'll be happy with that move too. The only move that would leave me pissed (but still hoping that they know what they are doing) is a DB pick. Otherwise, Clausen/Bradford/Okung/whatever, I'll trust these regime (for now) to make the right choice.

texasthunder
Cool, I could live with that draft. We draft Clausen at #4, then trade him to Buffalo for Okung and a second rounder. YES ! Get a OL plus a additional mid second round pick.

If we are thinking QB in this draft at any round (and I am not sure why we wouldn't), we need to get the absolute best QB in the draft, not someone who we grade as almost as good and an extra pick. Priority #1 is finding a franchise QB if we are serious about long term success. Your scenario only works if they honest to god rate Clausen over Bradford. Then I am ok with that. None of this, "well, we can just take Lefevor or Pike in the second, he'll be just as good" bullhonky. We don't need just as good, we need the best, and hopefully for the first time in nearly 20 years we'll have a franchise QB. Also, I think the #4 for the #6 and #14 doesn't quite add up on the trade value chart.
Aston
Anyone else get the feeling that that Jimmy Clausen is Jay Schroeder 2.0? I.e. talented, could probably put up decent stats, make a Pro Bowl now and again, but also a guy that no one on the team will like and might ruin locker room chemistry? Nope, I get the feeling he's more like Philip Rivers 2.0, fiery competitor, who doesn't shy away from a little **** talk (which in-turn causes people to hate on him), can make all the throws, has very good accuracy, good leadership ability, but with more mobility than Rivers. I see Todd Marinovich 2.0, but not as physically gifted. Groomed from a young age and is more of a product of that than most QB's coming out of college. His upside is very limited. Morneblade
I've never heard anything like that before this post --- where did you get this from? Really? Maybe you dont remember Todd, or dont know alot about Clausen. Jimmy is the youngest of 3 brother whom all played QB through College. anyways, Jimmy has had private high profile coaches since he was very young and has been groomed since grade school to be a NFL QB. Just like Todd Marinovich was. Both were well ahead of their peers, alot of it having to do with the grooming. He was taken in the first round (24th pick) by the Raiders. He had a hard time with the offense and flamed out. I see Clausen as being able to grasp the offense better, but I think he's ceiling is low, like Marinovich's was. He wont get much better than he is now IMO. Well, you need to see Morneblade the way I do. He's kind of like Todd McShay 2.0. That's fine, considering the source. Nor to we know who they have on their board as to offensive line, etc. Hell yes, if Bradford/Clausen is deemed the saviour of our franchise, then we have to take the risk. But since both qbs have some questions surrounding them, many fans on ES are leary of jumping on their bandwagon. We have been burned in the past, and the scar is still visable. theboomking
No Charles Brown in the 1st? Hopefully he would be our pick in the second. The thing I don't like about Clausen, is that after watching him a lot this season, he almost never completes mid range or deep passes to middle of the field. No posts, no seam routes. Almost everything is to the outside of the numbers. I don't know if it is a vision problem or what, but if he can't work the middle of the field, defensive coordinators will eat his lunch. Hunter_R
You can't get a hit if you don't step up to the plate. You'd think a lot of fans here would be shut-ins. They'd simply be too scared to trust people after getting burned. ****, I'm sure we've drafted a bust at every position. Might as well not even have the draft and use all the picks to trade for players.

Earl Thomas!!! He WILL be a premiere safety in the league. A quiet playmaker who has been compared to Ed Reed just like Eric Berry. Doesn't hit as hard, but can cover the same amount of ground. He'd be huge in our D.
