REDSKINS NAME RICHMOND FLOWERS COACHING ASSISTANT

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA – The Washington Redskins announced today that they have named Richmond Flowers to the position of Coaching Assistant.

Flowers was a seventh-round draft pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2001, but spent most of that season on the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad. He went to training camp with Dallas in 2002 before being released. Flowers joined the Redskins’ practice squad in 2002 and also spent the 2003 preseason with Washington.

Flowers played collegiately at Duke, where he was a three-year letter winner (1996, 98-99) and a 1998 ACC All-Academic Team selection. His five career 100-yard receiving games are the fifth-most in Blue Devils history.

After graduating from Duke, Flowers played his final season of college eligibility at Tennessee-Chattanooga in 2000. His 86 receptions and 1,035 receiving yards for the Mocs that year both established school single-season records at the time and still rank second in UTC history. His five 100-yard receiving games tied a school single-season record.

Flowers was born May 4, 1978 in Birmingham, Ala.

More youth on the coaching staff for Shanahan Jnr.

If we bring players in the same way we are doing coaches I'm gonna be a happy bunny. Looks like the start of a dynasty but it's the off season so........ lol. Looking good so far though.
