Rumor: Donte Whitner to Washington

Is he any good?

He's not bad, but he certainly hasn't played up to his draft position. He's got a pretty good nose for the ball, but he's not a ball hawk and he's not awesome in run support. But he's probably an upgrade at FS... Although his addition would probably result in a downgrade at SS as Doughty and Horton would be relegated to the bench.

Hopefully our young safety who showed alot of promise can bounce back and play like the safety we thought he would be when we drafted him.

lol what the hell. Why would you admit that you you got your info from a fan site? The worst part about it is that its a RUMOR.

lol because they saw how much people on ES were getting pissed for not getting props for supplying them with insider info ;)

Or hopefully we could package LL in a trade scenario.

Interesting. NFL.com lists him as a FS so I'm not sure I understand your point about the downgrade at SS. Wouldn't this result in Landry monving to SS (and thus a possible upgrade at the position)?

If Whitner is really a SS who isn't a "ball hawk" (which I read as not good in coverage) then this doesn't make sense at all.....

Landry's biggest problem is that he cant tackle and takes bad angles trying to make a tackle because he's trying ot get on Sportcenter. It would be a downgrade putting him out of position at SS.

I'm saying I think Landry is a downgrade at SS.

In all honesty, as long as he can play decent coverage and doesn't bite the cheese ( or in Landrys case, attack the cheese) I'd be all for it. In the few Bills games I've seen over the years, he's been okay.

I think if we get a coach that gets Landrys' attention, he'll stop playing like a bonehead. Because right now I think the problem is all upstairs with him.

I hope so.

We're going to need him to succeed if we want to succeed if he's on our roster.

And although he's been awful, I don't want to give up hope on him yet, either. Hopefully he can learn from his mistakes.
