Midnight Judges
i would just love to wake up one morning and see that we caught the top taliban leadership. We actually have killed several high level taliban leaders. My favorite was the guy who talked **** to the media last fall and coincidentally a missile fell on his house the next day. DRSmith
Godspeed Marines. Go level some Taliban butt.By the way, what is up with the Middle East and using human shields? I know this type of BS is prevalent outside the ME, but it seems to be used ALL the time buy Taliban, Al-Queda, and other similar POS groups. What a bunch of little ****es, always hiding their faces on videos, beheading innocent civilian contractors, using innocent people as shields, using mentally handicapped people as suicide bombers. Seriously, what pieces of **** these people are, I hope our marines are able to weed out these bad guys in this offensive. I think they are scum for killing innocents but very often those contractors you hear about are Black Water people, mercs.

I think she is talking about contractors like Nick Berg, but since when does being a security contractor make it right to have your body burned and hung from a bridge? You do understand that those folks provided security to the VIPs while freeing up Soldiers to the work in the field.
Mickalino
Thousands of U.S. Marines and Afghan soldiers traveling in helicopters and mine-resistant vehicles began punching into a key Taliban stronghold Go level some Taliban butt. Kick some Taliban ass! Kick some Mine ass ! Mines have been just as big an enemy to our troops.

Do you realize those mercenaries are almost entirely previous special forces in the US or allied militaries. Black Water is basically our military except it's been privatized. There is a difference between a guy who is conttacted to rebuild infrastucture and the guy contracted to kill people. I take a job building bridges I expect a bridge may fall on me. I take a job killing people I realize the people who I am trying to kill will be ticked at me and may do some bad things when they catch me. DRSmith
Yeah, the paycheck for one.Curious why you seem to be going down this road? They have less of a right to life than others? Either person no matter what their motivation who thinks violence is the answer to getting their point across will reap what they sow. But there is a difference between a guy who gets killed working at something where he is not trying to kill others and the man who is attempting to kill others for work. DRSmith
Even at the request of a nation?Curious how pacifists justify slaughter So you see no problem with problem with people paying their friends tons of money to go out and fight? Seems to me it would cost more and on top of that if you are fighting for me for cash who is to say you will not flip to the other side for more money. Not a pacifist so if you find one ask him or her.

Most I know are dedicated professionals, flipping is the last thing they would do. Some are a bit less principled in who they will fight for though. any how, back to the topic. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/nationworld/2011050122_afghan12.html US troops close Taliban escape route before attack‎ -- [seattle Times] Hundreds of Afghan soldiers were to join US Marines in the attack to emphasize ... on the northern edge of Marjah, closing off a main Taliban escape route. Destino
Yeah, the paycheck for one.Curious why you seem to be going down this road? They have less of a right to life than others? They are mercenaries or hire. Their job is to shoot people... it doesn't take a rocket scientists to figure out that the very nature of their occupation implies they will be shot at in response. Your "right to life" argument is flat out baffling. The way war has worked since the dawn of time is that those that pick up a weapon and step onto a battlefield can rely on no right to life... the enemy will try to kill them and vice versa. In recent times civilians have been granted special privileges in battle zones in some cases. Fighters however enjoy no such benefits. The reason merc's shouldn't be used is because they are no different than the "unlawful combatants" the US is having such a pain in the ass dealing with. That have no creed, no rule book, and no chain of command involved in any political process. You don't like what they did? Well fire them... but holding them accountable has proven almost impossible. They fight for profit and as such even a nations reason for fighting is secondary to them. They are their for profit and frankly I don't see how you can trust armed men running loose amongst civilians that are their to leave with as much wealth as they can. You do understand that most of these "mercs" were hired by the U.S. Government to protect VIPs and provide security in areas such as the Green Zone, which frees up Soldiers to do their jobs, the only time (for the most part) the they engage in combat outside the wire would be if they were attacked while on a CLP or some other movement between FOBs or COBs
