I don't think it'll be that long. I can't remember where I read it, but I read they want the chips implemented by 2019.

And of course it will ba painted as 'for our own good" complete with child snatching fears, etc. I can see the commercials now.

This is a trend. We aren't far from little chip implants. I say 40 years and we'll all be tagged like cattle.

But some things you can take actions on. I wonder when a cell phone manufacturer will provide a phone that 'shuts down' rather than turns off, so that remote tracking or activation wouldn't be possible.

Regarding tags, I can see some possible uses, but I'm not sure of the utility over a simple external device (why not build it into your cell phone). If people prefer the convenience of having one embedded then it would be easy to build a screen into your clothing (say the sleeve of a shirt (if the chip was in your arm) to ensure that the chip was only accessed with your permission.

Exactly. They will show heartbreaking stories of a children kidnapped, and then use it to sell the public on the chips. After all, how can you be against the chips if it'll save the children? Are you evil and bad? Do you hate children? lol.

Did you know that cell phone manufacturers are secretly placing another battery in their phones that you can't remove just for this purpose?

I didn't 'know' that.

I opened up the phone and couldn't find it, probably because it's so small, but to be safe I smashed up my phone with a hammer. I'm free!

What's the big deal? If you're not doing anything wrong then you have nothing to worry about right? This is all for our protection against terrorists anyway.

Long live the Patriot Act!! :silly:

I know this was sarcastic but I really do believe this to be the case. I would rather the government be able to spy on everyone and actually catch criminals than let criminals run free because I am worried about my private conversations. I definitely believe in personal freedoms and personal choice but I dont think that falls into the security realm. I realize this power could be abused and that is most peoples concern though. It really could be. But any power can be abused. Is that a reason to not have power?
