TheREALJBird
Can't say I'd be opposed to Bethea....but we have bigger issues to address. I don't see Indy letting him get away anyhow.
p rob88
I would much rather have O. J. Atogwe from the rams, he would be cheaper than Bethea. Plus he has already played under Jim Hasslett

John Lydon
I can't believe I can't post a thread, but this dumby can. Bob Sanders?????!!!!! If we need a safety to place on IR, he's the guy. Unbelievable. Bob Sanders....really? He's at his best close to the line, which is a problem when you are 5'8 195 pounds. Unbelievable. The guy can't stay healthy in the rugged AFC South. Come on! To the powers that be, "can I post stupid threads when ever I feel like it?" I'm sorry, I didn't know you were the definitive authority on what was appropriate thread material. Maybe before you go spouting off that someone is a "dummy" you should read the rules regarding flaming. Have a great day.
SWFLSkins
Sure, and in a perfect world Portis works hard in the offseason and wins the rushing title, the light goes off for Campbell and he throws 30 TDS, Devin Thomas catches 100 balls, and Haynesworth remembers how to dominate and gets 10 sacks.Sure, it's possible, but we can't go into the offseason with prayers. We need to shore up our positions of need and add talent wherever we can. SAFETY is not a position of need as is OL, LBer, QB, Corner and RB. The Redskins possess four pretty good safeties, two of them are young. Name on young back on this team with promise? Name one O-tackle with huge upside>? Horton and Moore both have upside. And everyone keeps forgetting how well Reed has played. The whole backfield is upgraded, Jerry Gray left.
Hiro
I actually would be curious to see how Horton or Moore would respond as a centerfielder. At least Horton seems to have more of a nose for the ball and a greater sense for working the backfield as a safety. To be honest, I think I'd actually feel safer with him at FS and Landry at SS. :whoknows:

Bostic Hog
Agreed. Landry is still a project, but he definitely is better in the box, near the line, where he can make plays in the backfield like when we had Sean Taylor (R.I.P). When we have a safety who can ballhawk like Taylor did, we can see how much of a beast Landry is. THIS is the problem: He was the #6 overall pick, THREE (3) years ago. How can he still be "a project"??????? #6 picks are supposed to step in and make a difference. Hell, he is more of a liability than an asset to us. Enough PROJECTS -- get me a good player. Yeah a number six pick who played that way until Jerry Grey and Greg Blache starting changing him into a FS to replace Taylor. And then add to that they played our DB's and Safeties about five to ten yards deeper then previously or what would make sense. As I said in this thread before, I want to see what Haslett can do with LL and company before final judgement.

Saftey is not a need on this team. There are like 8 other holes we need to fill before messing with a luxury pick with the #4 pick in the draft. For the record, I love the guy, and he went to UT. But not for us, not now and not with the #4.

I love Berry as well, but as you said, and I have said over and over, safety is far from a need right now.

W1N_SKINS
What if Horton could get back to his ball-hawking style and Landry could start blitzing and banging RB's in the head? Blache did not use these guys right, good gravy :beatdeadhorse: Exactly
BrandonJ83
Toward the end of the season Landry played more up on the line and he still got burnt, a lot. Look at the raiders game I think, he just doesn't seem to have his head in the game.

Look at the raiders game I think, he just doesn't seem to have his head in the game. When the manager tells you to clean up the parking lot and then yells at you because the burgers are burning, you tend to give up mentally. And that is how this team was being run last year, as bad as a fast food joint.

I don't think many will recognize our secondary next year, they will say wow where were these guys all this time. There was a reason the team came to a conclusion to not keep Jerry Grey the annoited one of Blache who himself quietly slipped into retirement. The talent on D is there, and it is going to show up next year.
SkinsHub
Shopping for safeties right now is not what the skins need to do. Also another big free agent signing is a waste of time and even money, especially if the collective bargaining agreement is reached. It's not a bad thought but it's way down on the list of priorites right now.

Landry has all the tools to be a top flight FREE Safety, he just needs to get his head out of his ass and stop trying to blow people up with every hit. I hope someone really gets his attention this year and gets him playing like a NFL player, not some highchool kid trying to impress a cheerleader. He needs to go out and play like Doughty, but with his althetic ability. Last year he played like a idiot.

Very true, but you have to wonder why he kept doing it over and over and nothing ever seemed to be said or done about it. That's what thing I am counting on from Shannny, he is not about to take any backtalk from anyone, he will get these guys playing the way he wants and not just let them screw up repeatedly. I have my fingers crossed when I say it, but I do expect to see a whole new attitude from the whole team next year.

I'm hoping he does that in preseason one time, and get yanked out and sat on the bench and told "If I ever see you do that again, you're cut. Get it, flyboy? Now go out there and at least TRY to play like a goddamn professional. Lord knows your getting paid like one." by Haslett. Yeah I know, one can dream......
