SnyderShrugged
Sarah Palin is a media whore.I'm sorry, that was probably offensive to God's children who sell themselves on the street, and the people who love them. I apologize. But seriously, folks...I understand her being upset about it. I do. But calling it a "sick and offensive tactic" akin to the N word? Uhm, no. It's just not. Sorry. It IS akin to the N word and it is highly offensive, especially to a parent of a child with disabilities . Sick tactic? yeah, you probably have a point on that one. Thats where she stretched it a bit IMO.
The Evil Genius
Just to stir it up a bit... When Palin used the term "lame" multiple times during a VP debate - was she making fun of crippled/disabled people? Should they take offense to that? :evilg:

Predicto
Agreed. I hate having to side with her but she is right. She's right that Emmanual should be fired? edit - nm, you clarified it.
skinfan133
Shame on Palin for using Trig as a political attack tool. Actions like hers are much more harmful than the word retard.
Thiebear
Bull****. She doesn't care about what's right. She's only interested in scoring political points ... "Death panels" for ****s sake. you must not have a child, thats a stupid thing to say just because you hate her guts. and no, he shouldn't be fired for that, but it should count as a performance review type thing. Corcaigh
I'd say, in this instance, you at least give her the benefit of the doubt, considering she has a handicapped child. Who are you to say that she should not be offended, when it is highly reasonable and very possible ? Call me cynical, but if I was deeply offended by what someone said I'd call them or write a personal letter. Claiming outrage in a Facebook posting? Seriously. GoSkins561
People in his position should never use that word. As far as I am concerned it's the the same as saying the N word.
AsburySkinsFan
More pseudo outrage from the Right. Now why would you believe that a parent of a child with disabilities would have "pseudo outrage"? Of course hat would upset her. Come on, there is a big difference between being angry or upset that someone said something and calling for someone to be fired for saying it. She's a politician and right now she is doing everything she can to inject herself into every media cycle. I found a portrait of Palin and every other politician. Claiming outrage in a Facebook posting? Seriously. You musn't have a good grasp of social media then. Why write a letter to one person when you can tell the thousands of people that follow your FB account how pissed you are instantly? And my 2c, I don't think this is a 100% political maneuver (More 50/50), she's being hyper sensitive and using it to ram this down Emanuel's and the PC lefts throat (pun intended). And that's a stupid comment by you ... because I have kids. When she makes similar comments attacking her own party for their miss-steps I'll take her words as genuine. Burgold
Shame on Palin for using Trig as a political attack tool. Actions like hers are much more harmful than the word retard. I really hope that's not the case. Using your kid as a prop is pretty low even on the political boo meter. I'm going to side with compassion and say you are off base here. Mostly, I believe what I said above.

No better way to root out and shine the light on absurdity than to throw it back in the lefts face.. Not saying its smart what she did, but effective. Duncan
Remember when the GOP hated PCism?Someone should ask the quitter what other words we should ban from language. I remember when the left used to squeal like little girls whenever there was a hint of anyone being insulted. Oops, maybe that wasn't PC. Liberals are responsible for political correctness so don't whine about it now.
GoSkins561
This isn't pc'ism, this is a leader of our country, offending hundreds of thousands of people. Howard Stern saying it is one thing, someone that is suppose to be a respectable pillar in our communities is another. It's a good thing you weren't around during the Johnson Administration. Supposedly he had such a mouth on him sailors would beg the secret service to let them serve just so they could take notes. There have been quite a few rough talking politicos and to be fair, I do think that behind closed doors in a meeting a few unscripted words are fine. I suspect you've been in a heated board room or conference room once or twice in your life.

Sure (though I'd argue that he was using it like most people use it; not deliberately to cause offense). But not as bad as the N-word IMHO. GoSkins561
I have, dropped the F bomb the other day while in a meeting with my boss. Using the word retard is completely different, idiot is fine, fing idiot is fine, retard is a word all of us should avoid using. How are people suppose to stop using offensive words like retard, if it's being used in the White House. He should be fired the same way any other politician would be ousted for using the N word. See ya Rahm you scum bag.
