REDSKINS LEADERSHIP JOINS TRIBUTE TO COACH DON SHULA

Rothman, Snyder and Schar assist The H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute’s first

Leadership and Philanthropy Award Dinner.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA – Unlike Super Bowls Vll and XVll when the Washington Redskins and Miami Dolphins played against each other, both teams will be on the same side at a key event this Super Bowl Week. Wednesday, the man who carries the title of “Winningest Coach,” Don Shula, will be honored for his leadership and philanthropy by Tampa’s Moffitt Cancer Center.

Robert Rothman, a co-owner of the Redskins as well as the Chairman of the Board for the Moffitt Cancer Center, and his wife Peggy are on the host committee for the event that will recognize the “extraordinary professional and civic accomplishments of a community leader.” Coach Shula is the first to receive the award. Joining the Rothmans on the host committee are Redskins Executive Vice President & General Manager Bruce Allen and his wife Kiersten. In addition, Redskins owners Daniel M. Snyder and Dwight Schar also are sponsors of this gala event.

“Most people know Don Shula as the architect of the 1972 Miami Dolphins Perfect Season,” said Rothman. “We know Don as a great teammate and supporter in the fight against cancer.”
