Reaganaut
I have noticed Philly using corner and safety blitzes to great effect over the years and have seen relatively few on the Redskins. Is this because you need the right type of defensive scheme, the right type of players, or a coach with the rocks to call one?
Coach Williams
Any 12 year old can make this scheme but the players are required......you need 1 great shutdown corner..check..and a LB who can run with the slot rec. no check....

I really think that Antonio Pierce would be able to fill that role very well. But I just say cut LaVar loose, he'll get the job done on the QB's. Mad Mike
I remember Darrel Green coming on the blitz a few times, even late in his career and it always brought a smile to my face.
The Wicked Wop
Yeah, last year even Champ and Smoot ran in on corner blitzs. The only problem they would always get their to late. I do however expect Bowen to blitz quite a bit this season. I think his speed and hitting ability could definately make a QB worry
Dexter's Better
We need someone with a mean streak in them. Where most of his teammates will say "Man, He just isn't right in the head sometimes, you know?" or "What he did to that guy, man sometimes you need to realize this is a sport, and the other guy is just trying to make a living too." Send him. That what I want to see.
Ignatius J.
Sam Shade had a FF on a safety blitz last year that was pretty sweet. We definately do blittz our corners and safeties, and when we do, the opposing team ussually just guns the ball for an incompletion. I wouldn't say that the champ blitzes were innefective at all. You can't just count sacks. -DB
Dr. D
I guess the most important thing is to HIDE that fact. Unless you arrive at the QB quickly, the potential for a long gainer is great.
