I_Bleed_B&G
I was just sitting here thinking about this and haven't seen Coke or Pepsi in glass bottles in a very very long time. I think it taste so much better in glass then aluminium cans or plastic bottles. Anyone know where I can find glass bottles of either coke or pepsi in Montgomery Co. MD or NOVA, DC area? Duckus
The grocery store by me sells Coke and Pepsi in glass bottles. I assume most do as well - did you check it out? They also sell Mexican Coke at my local grocery store and at some restaurants by my house. That usually comes in a glass bottle too. Mmmmmmm.....so good. Soooooo much better. Cane Sugar >>>>>>>>>> High-fructose corn syrup.
AdamB
Not sure about out there, but here we can buy Coke made/bottled in Mexico which is in glass, with the old-style tops that require a bottle opener, and is still made with pure cane sugar
Mooka
Don't know. Always buy them when I'm at a burrito joint out here because I swear it tastes better. I think Coke made outside the US is made with sugar instead of corn syrup. They also sell Mexican Coke at my local grocery store and at some restaurants by my house. That usually comes in a glass bottle too.Mmmmmmm.....so good. Soooooo much better. Cane Sugar >>>>>>>>>> High-fructose corn syrup. Hell yea. Its actually a big difference in taste. I_Bleed_B&G
yes, Cane Sugar FTW!!!. That is what I'm looking for. I have to check out the local store the next time I'm there but I'm sure I would of noticed if the Giant or Safeway carried it. Maybe I need to check out the Mexican/Latino stores nearby. DButz65
If you cant find any locally, call and see if you can contact and buy directly from your local distributor, they MIGHT sell you coke in a bottle..not sure if there is minimum amount or not, but worth trying. DeanCollins
when I was in Breckenridge CO last month, the stores had Mexican Coca-cola in 20 oz bottles. The Mexican coke is made with pure cane sugar instead of corn syrup. Here's an article comparing the two. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.lifeofjustin.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/mexican-coke.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.lifeofjustin.com/mexican-coke-3043/&usg=__eGu_kgbHPEniPjOeyJnq_TQx3lg=&h=1185&w=600&sz=476&hl=en&start=10&sig2=WKNoD0zdRYgOJFIBUgkPeQ&um=1&tbnid=4pDoIT5c1bTgWM:&tbnh=150&tbnw=76&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dcoke%2Bin%2Bmexican%2Bbottles%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26channel%3Ds%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%26sa%3DN%26um%3D1&ei=3tVLS8y9J4WVtge7wuXnDA

DCBnG21
Yes, it's not so much about the glass as it is the way they make it. Coke outside of the States > Coke inside the states. Same with McDonald's fries. You want good McD's fries? Go to Asia.....
No_Pressure
You can get the Mexican cokes in original style glass bottles at many foreign grocery stores, but the place I get mine is Wegmanns aka the greatest store to ever exist ever. Special K
Don't know if you have them in Mo. Co. or NOVA, but usually Mexican grocery stores have them. We have one right across the street from us here in CO and I LOVE IT!!! I get Coke and FANTA in bottles, it's fabulous!
I_Bleed_B&G
Great news everyone. I went to the local Latin market and they had Coke and Pepsi in the old glass bottles. Just a heads up for those who run across these, the coke bottles had a sticker on them (appears to be from the distributor in the U.S.) that has the ingredients which says that it is made with High fructose corn syrup. From what I read on the interwebz, this is not true. Look on the metal cap and if it says azucar, that means sugar and its the real stuff made from cane sugar. The ones I bought say made in Honduras. They had Coke, Pepsi, Sprite, 7UP, and Fanta. I bought 6 Coke bottles, 6 Pepsi and 2 Sprite. I've only had the Coke so far and its fantastic. Can't wait to taste the Pepsi and Sprite. Brings back memories!!
