The argument for drafting QB at the #4 pick

Seeing the way the Jets Oline played, has given me reason to consider taking an OL in the first, but heck if we can trade down and let someone else gamble on a QB I'm cool with that, whatever makes our team better faster.

The Jet's made the playoffs and won a playoff game today solely based on offensive line play and defense.

Their QB is statistically the worst QB in the league, out of guys who've been healthy and started every game, yet they continue to win games.

Not to mention a punishing running game. Sanchez had everything fall into place for him in NY, a good coach, a good Defense (I wish we had Revis instead of plywood hands) a great O-Line that they went out and spent a lot of $$$ to upgrade and a punishing running game. Had we gotten Sanchez we would have been 1-15

If either Suh or Gerald McCoy are there at 4, do you think there's a chance that N.E., who traded away Seymour and has 2 - 1st rounders, would trade their 3 - 2nd rounders for our #4 so they can replace Seymour with a top DT? They still net out the same normal number of picks in rounds 1 & 2, but get #4 and #17-ish. If they would do it, it would be awesome for the Skins who could really load up the OL and still take a QB. Dreaming, yeah.

Seymour is a free agent. The Pats might just sign him back. But that is my biggest hope - that either Suh or McCoy falls and we are able to find a team to trade with that really wants them.

Was there nothing in that trade that came with any type of guarantee that seymour would stay? Why can I not believe this? I mean it's the raiders which means I should but still I even find that hard to believe.

Bottom line with the #4 pick is that Shanahan will want his own guy. I'm 1,000% certain either Clausen or Bradford will be selected 4th overal and thats just the way it is.

Wow! 1,000%. That probably means you're right. I mean if you use a number like that...debate just ends. It is like "triple dog dare". So tell me...if we made a bet, would that mean you give 1,000 to 1 odds for your case?

The Redskins NEED to go get TROY SMITH right now.. Before the Brownies grab him up. Let Smith and Brennan battle for the starting job this offseason.

Then trade out of the 4th spot OR draft BPA.

On a non QB related side note: With the whole uncapped thing going down this offseason.. I gotta believe NO will unload Reggie Bush. Could Shanahan salvage Reggie`s career in DC?

I would`nt mind finding out!

So you want to have two late round projects who are pretty much unknown commodities in the NFL as your candidates for starter? Isn't that a bit...I dunno...risky? I'm assuming you would have us trade Campbell away in this scenario? What if they both turned out to be horrible? I really don't see Shanny going for that. I wouldn't mind bringing him in to see what he could do but not in such a cut and dried situation.

As far as Reggie Bush goes...it is an interesting idea. I don't know what he would be owed next season. It would certainly be an interesting thing to try. However, he really has never been a "one cut and go" kind of player which is what Shanny seems to look for to go along with a ZBS. Bush made his living in college by running around people. It didn't really work out too well in the NFL. If he could be coached into changing the way he plays a bit it would be possible. He certainly has the speed. If I had a choice between him and Spiller I'd probably take Spiller, but I'm not sure I'd want to give up a 1st round pick for CJ.

No it's not, history shows otherwise. Drafting a linemen is the wrong thing to do here. Otherwise prove it. State your case with facts as to why you feel there is no problem at QB now and that we are set here or ignore the post. I think most of this just goes over you head anyway
The problem at QB is linked directly to the offensive line. If we address the offensive line, our QB problem may be solved. You seem to believe that quarterback is the only position on offense that matters. If that's true, then we should draft QB at positions 1 through 7 every single year, for the duration of this franchise. So many things go into the success of an offense. The running game is just as important, but we lack that as well. Offensive line would improve our passing and running game.
