Would You Take McNabb on the Skins? (Merged & M.E.T.)

Huge upgrade over Campbell, but it would be absolutely the wrong way to build this franchise. McNabb has 3-4 good years left and the reason he's losing his touch now is because he's losing his mobility. Really that's what scared me most early on in his career, the dynamic playmaking ability. I also blame it on the fact Philly never properly managed that team, specifically the offense. The one year they make the Super Bowl, McNabb has Owens. Really this past off-season they should have traded the pick for Boldin. Maclin is a clone of Jackson and doesn't present that size mismatch Boldin would.

If the choice is between McNabb and JC, I'd take McNabb to run the show until the QB we draft is deemed ready. But, my first choice would be to play the rookie from the start.

To me, it wouldn't be a bad plan to sign McNabb, let JC go and get a third or fourth round comp pick for him, and draft a QB. If the QB we draft is not ready to start the season, McNabb can hold down the fort better than JC could.

Hail,

H

My Eagles friends think that McNabb is done in Philly after this year because the Eagles simply can't ask Kevin Kolb to sit on the bench for another year behind McNabb. The Eagles could try and deal McNabb or Kolb after this year with McNabb being the likely one to go. Both have only one year left on their current contracts. My friend asked me if I would take McNabb on the Skins and, after some thought, I said "yes, he'd be good for the Skins for a 2-3 year run while we groomed a younger QB."

If the Eagles can't trade McNabb they may just release him to allow him to go find a team of his own. If they commit to McNabb for a few more years, they'd likely try and get something for Kolb, who is good trade bait, rather than let him go for nothing in return. Either way, whether it's McNabb or Kolb, I think the Skins should look at these two QB's as options to run the West Coast offense. Both know the offense well and both have intangibles that would be upgrades over JC.

This whole scenario may be a long shot because the Eagles would likely not want to see McNabb or Kolb with a division rival, but then again the Eagles management is pretty arrogant. They traded a 1st round pick to Dallas a couple of years ago without worrying who Dallas would select.

Clearly I'm looking for a veteran QB who can come in and run Shanahan's offense next year.

dude, i'm glad you're not in our FO.

Art Monk finished his career as an Eagle. Paybacks are a *****. :evilg:

In all seriousness, no no no and... NO!

He's 33 and his performance is going to start going downhill at this point, he can't win a clutch game, plus he'd command too much money and he's still under contract for next year which means giving up a DRAFT PICK.

No thanks. If he was 5 years younger maybe.
