wvtbred
where will all the haters go if JC does stay? Right here with my boycott still in place.
d56
If they are up front and honest with him about not being the starter full time, JC is going to ask for a trade. He mentioned on one of the talk shows he didn't want to be a stop gap option. He believes he is a started in this league. I hope he goes somewhere and does well. It would be interesting to see what everyone says then when he is playing for a team that gets it.

Lone Star Skin Fan
I can't celebrate the future completely until Campbell is shown the door. I can't believe there are still people on this board that support him in any way. The guy is not a leader and he cannot read a defense, offensive line or not. Enough of this already. No one around the league will want him, either. He has no trade value.
Brandon Lloyd Christmas
where will all the haters go if JC does stay? ill be laughing on game day at how horrid we are, and his fan club will most likely be upset that their pre season prediction of 11-5 isnt coming true when we lose to st louis. SkinsCrushCowboys
I still think a #4 is too high to take a QB...hopefully I am proved wrong..not sure JC has a 2 value right now...
Jumbo
where will all the haters go if JC does stay? Same place all the homers will go if he leaves. See how that works?
StillUnknown
meh, i'm not expecting much in terms of win/losses next season anyway if campbell is simply a stop gap until Bradford/Clausen is ready, then so be it
twistedpower
the problem with this is there isnt a QB in this years draft good enough to be taken in the top ten
Soup
Kelly Johnson reported last night that Shanny and some of his former coaches and personnel guy have looked at every tape of every nfl game played this year. They have seen jason. I thought it was only game tape of the steelers and Pats?
Califan007 The Constipated
If that's the case I can't wait to read posts from certain posters on this forum trying to tell everyone they know more about football than Mike Shanahan and Bruce Allen. They will say the "meddling" Snyder dictated that Campbell be kept...either that, or that this just proves how bad a coaching hire Shanahan was lol ... Skinswego
Not a Campbell fan, but what if he was kept, a QB was drafted in Second Round, but Campbell played well next year and started all 16?

Skinswego
the problem with this is there isnt a QB in this years draft good enough to be taken in the top ten There is not a player outside of Suh possibly that is worth the guaranteed contract the Redskins will be paying. Burgold
Makes sense to me. Best thing to do is to play it both ways. Keep the guy you got and see if you can fix the problems around him and at the same time get a new guy who'll need some grooming and can become the man if he doesn't pan out. Green Bay and Philadelphia sort of did this by drafting a no. 1 qb before they were quite ready to dismiss either McNabb or Farve (not saying that Jason is equivalent to those two. Just that the theory is similar)

grhqofb5
Even if we draft a highly touted QB, all JC has to do to ensure himself a starting position is play well. That's it. Of course there's other variables involved in his performance, most notably the terrible pass protection and asinine play calling system, but he delt surprisingly well with it all last year and we know those items will be eliminated, or improved (after all, the O-line simply cannot get worse). If he stays around, he comes in here next year as the #1 guy. If he plays well, he remains the #1 guy, at least for the season. Next offseason, the franchise would have a decision to make ala the Brees/Rivers or Kitna/Palmer situation, and Campbell could move to another team. Xameil
WAY to soon to call this, the coaching staff hasn't even looked at tape yet. I call bull except, Shanahan HAS looked at tape of him...he said he has studied tape in his time off...if this has been in the works for months...don't you think he has paid REALLY close attention to the Redskins? Botched
the blow will be lightened if we do draft bradford. Not much. If I have to hear "but he's in a new system" one more time my head will explode.

OuterBanksTarHeel
Does anyone actually think that Campbell will be on board if the Skins draft a QB at #4? He will demand a trade and will not be on the same page as the organization. Remember last off-season, when the Skins flirted with Sanchez? So, this bit of news really proves nothing. The Skins aren't going to come out and say that they don't want a guy who will be an RFA and command a draft pick.

Stew
JC isn't going to like that and will throw a hissy fit. When has Campbell ever thrown a "hissy fit"? Seriously, he handles himself with integrity.
