It just depends on what account you believe. Some say we were rejected by many in that coaching search. Either way....not a big deal. I hope you know what I meant. We interviewed him because we were interested in him. Once we did, we realized we didn't want him. We interviewed Fassel because we were interested in him. Once we did we didn't want him. We interviewed LOTS of people, including two no one has ever named and no one knows about. Once we did, we didn't want them. The only guy the team seemed genuinely interested in last time was Meeks and Zorn. As for fighting over the coaching job here, you may be correct that people aren't fighting over it, but that would only be because it appears to be filled by the No. 2 guy available -- most of us would consider Cowher the No. 1 guy available presumably. As for a dark horse, all I know is historically under Snyder the media is NEVER out front of a move we make. They always catch the moves we make. Historically under Snyder all this talk about one guy would negate it being that guy because the people talking simply have no real information. Sometimes guys on the other side release, but Shanahan doesn't do that like Fassel did. Historically I'd be certain the future hire is a name no one knows and with the timing of Cowher seeking assistants I'd think him given what I know of how we worked. But this is a new era. Bruce Allen's ship may have more leakage than the Cerrato and Snyder ship. I DO know several people have been spoken to privately. More than just Gray and Shanahan. I know Cowher is among them. That doesn't mean he's in the running. I just think we know enough about this team to know the easy answer is rarely the one we are ultimately shown. Posts like these are one of the main things that keep me coming back to ES time and time again. The person in charge of such things just took the bait when I said I hear we're getting video screens like the tiny ones here. He sais, "Are you joking. We're getting a new one. 100-feet." NICE boys. So I take this to mean we will have improved jumbo trons? Or should I say "real" jumbo trons... is this something that will likely happen by next season? I remember reading awhile back that part of the problem between us and spags was vinny. And that Vinny told him they had 2 years to make it work or they would both be out of here. And Spag's told him it would take longer than that to immplement his system and turn us around. I'm guessing part of the reason neither party wanted each other. They have been ruining this team for years and the depth of this team showed that. I would like to hear your negative take on it since you were always against posters that have said all along the problem is Danny. Even if he hires Shanny nothing will change unless he steps away from all football decisions and let the coach and GM make those. We have a long way to go before anything improves.
