doncherry
One thing is for sure, shouldn't have much Eagles fan bull**** going on for at least the week. Anyone picking Philly next week is not going to be basing it on a single thing that doesn't revolve around the past. I really can't think of one objective reason to believe that Dallas won't win next week. the whole beating a team 3x in one year worries me, like it did against the Giants.... PF Chang
the whole beating a team 3x in one year worries me, like it did against the Giants.... Eh. Still centered around things that happened in the past. If you're a Dallas fan (heading out soon no time to check post history), I think the records of teams going for 3-0 against one team is something like 12-6 historically. It's just that the Cowboys losing to the Giants that year was particularly memorable and obviously sticks pretty rough in a Dallas fan's head I'd imagine. In other words, confident but apprehensive

ABQCOWBOY
Nobody dropped a TD. Crayton dropped a long pass, but it was not a TD. And besides, that wan't the end of the game. Romo sits to pee was totally lost. The whole offense looked out of whack. Don't defend Romo sits to pee. It's ok to admit that he wasn't good late in that game. It would have been a TD. I mean, it doesn't really matter to my way of thinking. You can say Romo sits to pee chocked or the WRs chocked or the coaching staff or whatever. We lost and come Sunday, we will have a chance to make that right. I don't believe this is the same team that lost in NY in 07 but time will tell. schmitty_199
This Cowboys team is much different from those in years past. First of all it's obviously a more tight nit and together team, and seems to be more focused. 2nd of all it's a much more balanced team. This Cowboys team features the 6th ranked passing offense and 8th ranked rushing offense, which totals to the number 2 overall offense in terms of yards. Dallas has a more effective rushing attack then they did in 07, and imo a more efficient passing attack. Without T.O, Romos not forcing as many passes, which is helping result in a lot less turnovers. On the defensive side of the ball this is the best defense Dallas has had in awhile. Dallas brings the 5th ranked rushing defense, and the 3rd ranked scoring defense in the league. Since the Green bay loss Dallas has given up 11.57 points per game, a stat over 7 games. And with that said, I believe Dallas is in for a battle next weekend. It's going to be a slugfest and much closer then the game today. I expect philly to play an excellent game, and it should be a fun one to watch! Edge Dallas.
Jumbo
no to hijack the thread, but was the old tv show Northern Exposure an accurate representation of life in Alaska? So-so, but it was even more reflective of some parts of rural WA state where it was actually filmed. And WA state is where I've been living for years now. In the show, it was mainly themes of independence, autonomy, interesting people, a general sense of separation from the "mainstream" (in Alaska we referred to everyone not from there as "Outsiders"), and deep connection to nature that fit the reality well. "That stuff" is in my blood. (sorry, guys, for the digression---I won't extend it)

It was win or go home (essentially) starting with the Saints game. You're a skins fan to the core so it's understood why you're so frustrated. If we hadn't gone to N.O. and dominated a previously undefeated team in their place, when nobody was giving us a chance, we're not even talking playoffs. THAT'S PRESSURE. We had an opportunity to lay an egg, at our hated rivals last week. It happens all the time but we handled business. You probably won't admit that you fully expected Dallas to lose today. After all the eagles had beaten us like 6 of 7 in December under Reid and we had lost our prior last 9 regular season finals. What kills me is that nobody considers that teams/players can turn a corner, mature and overcome. Whether that's happen for us fully remains to be seen. Just letting you know how foolish and bitter you are.

When the season is on the line, Dallas has failed. True or false? True. A loss to the Saints would have been the end to the Cowboys season? True or false? False. They actually lost two games later on and guess what? They're still going to the playoffs. The pressure of do or die has not been on the team so far. It will be next week. That's all I've said. I'm not sure what part of any of my posts you think make look silly or bitter, but your exaggerations certainly don't help your cause. You're the same lame poster you've always been. Just letting you know how foolish and bitter you are. I kknow you're mainly just jabbin at Armchair, but I totally agree with him. There's not the slightest bit of foolishness in what he's saying. N.O was downsliding as Dallas was getting their **** more together for a change (given the December thingy). That's not excusing anything or denying credit, that's a valid asessement in both parts of the statement. It's quite possible you're right about turning the corner, overall. I think most Dallas skeptics accept that such is certainly possible. But at this point, even while things are looking good, they have in the past with you too--only to end in fail. So the burden is still on you guys to show it all the way (at least to a strong performance in the NFCCG). Armchair's postion isn't one of denying you just due IMO, or anywhere near "baiting", and it may be colored by B&G blood, but it still holds up to critical scrutiny. Now me, I'll tell ya right now that while I wouldn't use the word "bitter" on myself---maybe petty or shallow--I will just hate if you guys go to the SB---a lot. I hate that you won the division. I have never been one for "trolling" or being what I regard as over-the-top silly (or worse) toward decently-behaved cowboy fans, or when generally dicussing their team, OTHER than the fact that I love it when they lose and hate it when they have serious success. But I still try to comment honestly even if I have to get my digs in at times. I don't even begrudge cowboy fansfrom wanting to enjoy their team as people ---philosophically ---but in practical terms, I would rather dig for sympathy (however unsuccesfully ) to your suffering than endure your team winning, even though it brings you pleasure. Anyhoo, you are playing well, you may have indeed put the recent fail behind you, but it's too early for you to be definitive about it IMO. :cool2:
Jumbo
Yeh, Armchair, I will really miss the avatar. And you talk about taking unpopular postions, I knew more about Zorn and for far longer than 95% of this fanbase and it's been quite the experience to watch. He needs to go. But I still have a good opinion of him despte his HC gaffes (real and exaggerated or misapplied by others) but I'm pretty sure he'll do well in his NFL future even if not as a HC. I will find a cool new avatar, though. Count on it.

The saints game indeed did have a do or die feel to it. It would have been three straight loses in December and sliding into a tie with the Giants who held the tiebreaker. I think almost everyone would have pronounced them deat at that time including me. We are all well aware of their recent failures in pressure situations but failing to recognize the differences in this team is ridiculous. Sure they may lose on Saturday Night but they have played much better to end the season than they have in more years than I can remember. That gives me much hope!
