HeHateMe
I'm going on a training op to Kuwait so I'll be gone a month. Just throwing that out there that I won't be here, win or lose, Monday. That being said: Eagles 27 Cowboys 19 No chance in hell that awesome Eagle defense lets up that many points. Now, if you qualified it by saying that Dallas had 2 late garbage TDs with 2 point conversions, that would make more sense. Godspeed WB. Be safe. Westbrook36
I think Dallas has a great defense. Do not misconstrue the intent of this thread. I honestly think its either going to be the Eagles or the Cowboys representing the NFC. I just think that Dallas is bend don't break whereas the Eagles are stop your drive via sack or turnover. I do agree the Eagles allow too many points; however, just like your first two games, the Eagles had a couple of stinkers that skew the season stats. I've seen bend don't break so many times since I've been an Eagles fan.....just seems like it breaks at the most opportune time.
Tom [Giants fan]
In the four games against both teams, the Giants averaged 30 points per game, they both suck!!!! Unfortunately, the Giants' defense sucked worse!
Ken
Yeah, well, I did forget about the Cowboys hardly ever getting turnovers. You convinced me, they are better. So then what happened the first time these teams played where the great eagles offense scored 16 points? Was that a fluke or????? BTW, both our offense and defense are better than they were the first time we played.

Aren't points the most important? I'll gladly give philly 800 yards in offense tomorrow if they score 1 less point than Dallas.
jbigdog123
I don't see how one defense is clearly better other defense. They are very close, too close to say "clearly". To me, the most import stat of all is, which defense gives up the least amount of points, after all, points dictate wins and losses, not yardage, or other stats. I would gladly take a defense that gives up less points than a defense that gives up less yardage and higher ranking on other defensive stats. [[ghost]]
I'm hoping for a huge Eagles win this week, followed by Dallas getting elimated next week, only to have the Eagles have their hearts broken the following week. That's pretty much the only thing that'll make this season anything less than the worst 5 months as a fan.
Westbrook36
coolbeans, you haven't been around here long, have you? Annually, the Eagles string together a few wins and I become an insufferable jerk. Just accept it. Eventually, the Eagles break my heart and I'm able to see things much more rationally. Anyway, I feel bad for Cowboy fans. We can quote stats all day long but the fact remains that we own you at the end of the year. This is the time of the year where your team comes up the smallest-especially against the Eagles. Once the Vikings win and all hope for the 2 seed are out the window, who is going to have more motivation for the game? Just like last year when the Eagles found out they could make the playoffs.....they were hopping around in the tunnel beating the **** out of each other like crazed dogs. They couldn't wait to get on the field. 44-6 later a few lessons were learned. You guys are dead in the water. You know it, deep down inside. You fear it, but will never admit it. I'm sorry I won't be able to see the game. But rest assured I will hear the result and will be smiling ear to ear.
doncherry
Once the Vikings win and all hope for the 2 seed are out the window, who is going to have more motivation for the game? I would assume that both teams would be equally motivated to win the division and host a first round playoff game. What do you think?
ArmchairRedskin
Personally, I think the Eagles are the team to beat in the NFC. The good old fashioned eyeball test favors them in my opinion. I've seen every NFC team that's headed into the playoffs play these last couple of weeks and the Eagles seem to be the strongest.

You posted a bunch of stats in the original post and I asked you if both teams play to their stats, who wins the game? I would still like an answer to that question. Second, I don't really care about what has happened in the past. This is a new year and Dallas appears to be a different team. If things were the same, they would have been crushed at NO. The team appears unified and Romo sits to pee is protecting the ball and playing well. I think this game could go either way. It could be close or a blowout either way if one team decides not to tip their hand. Personally, I could easily see the winner of this game losing the following week if they play each other again. It has been harped on all week that this is a playoff game. We are not going to cough it up 4 times in this game like last year. You are not doing to us this year what happened last year, this much I can promise you. It should be a good game though.
Westbrook36
I love how Cowboy fans talk about the team being FOCUSED with the same exact coaching staff and QB. Last year, with the playoffs on the line, how could you not be FOCUSED and lose by 38 points? FOCUSED.
schmitty_199
All these stats are entertaining, but they'll go out the window on sunday. This game features two very talented teams playing good football as of late playing for basically the same thing. It's a rivalry, and Dallas has been hearing about that 44-6 game for a calendar year now, especially in december. Id be surprised if we dont see Dallas play hard this time around, but I also assumed they'd play hard last season in this game as well. This game will come down to pass rush imo. Whoever gets in the opposing QB's face will win.

schmitty_199
It was called "TO". You of all pleople should know what he does to a lockeroom. The subtraction of T.O and the addition of Keith Brookings has made a huge difference in our locker room. Got rid of a cancer and added a leader. Romos a much better QB without T.O as well, it looks like he's actually making his reads all the time now instead of deciding whether or not he can get T.O the ball on the play. Revenge from last season's last game debacle? Home game in the playoffs? Making sure Eagles don't get 2nd seed and bye? If those alone, let alone together aren't enough motivation for Dallas, this team is lost.

tr1
So, here's the scenario: One of these two teams will win, believe that they are really good, and then get rudely awakened in the playoffs. The other will lose, say the loss wasn't a big deal because they still made the playoffs, and then they too will be slapped in the face in the first round. I'm thinking injuries and special teams determine the outcome of this game. I hope no one important gets hurt...I'd hate for injuries to be the excuse for the failure. Oh, and discussing stats in an NFCE game that has some significance is historically pretty silly. Kumbaya.
ABQCOWBOY
Interesting. So then, the Eagles average 28.6 points a game and the Cowboys average 22.5. However, The Cowboys average 394.4 yards a game and the Eagles average 366.5. Are we now going to say that the Cowboys have a better offense then the Eagles because they gain more yards on offense?
