Heisenberg
According to Kevin Sheehan they are receiving word that Shanahan is still one of the top candidates for the job.

[[ghost]]
Shanahan wouldn't be bad, but I don't want him to have any say on who runs the defense. Washington does that just fine. I just want him to influence the offense. Could you guys imagine a Shanny/Portis reunion?

Larry Brown #43
Anything that proves Chris Russell wrong (yet again) is okay with me. As soon as CR said Shanny was out of the mix, I knew that Shanny was very much still a possibility.

visionary
They said that the same people/person who've been mentioning Bruce Allen as a possibility said that Shanahan is still in the mix. But the 980 guys also can't find any strong connection between Allen and Shanny that would hint at it.
TheDoyler23
Shannahan should absolutely keep his interest in Washington as it helps keep his value strong.

joejccva71
Honestly Shanahan is NOT a good personnel person at all. Yes he's a good coach but one of the big reasons why he was let go from the Broncos was because of his personnel issues. I don't think we should get this guy...Gruden would be ALOT better for this franchise.
Burgundy Burner
Shanny will be the next coach. Book it. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/12/17/source-shanahan-next-on-the-redskins-wish-list/

I wouldn't want either as GM.

TheGoodBits
Good. I like Shanahan. But I'm definitely down with Gruden too. My wishlist: 1. Shanny 1a. Gruden Either one works for me. How's this: Gruden for HC, Shanny for highest paid OC ever? I think it would be a cluster**** at Redskins Park and would probably be a disaster, but it sounds like something Danny's mind would come up with.
