Veretax Posted December 13, 2009 Share Posted December 13, 2009 TO heck with the penalties, what is the rule for when the clock stops. Does it not stop when a player goes out of bounds? On that last Minnnesota drive before the 2 minute warning, I saw a viking receiver catch a pass coming back for the ball, and basically stepped out of bounds before the bengal defender could get there, but the Official keeps the clock churning. Then I saw another one where Adrian Peterson was running to the same sideline and gets blasted back out of bounds by two or three bengals, and again the clock kept rolling. So Maybe I don't understand NFL rules, but I thought if a player stepped out of bounds, or the ball goes out of bounds the clock would stop????
