OT: Stop Popup messages

Recommended Posts

The only one draw back the free version has is that their are no options, and it usually kills user invoked popups (like pictures and sometimes new broswers). It is just a simple click to deactivate it though and open up a pop screen. I usually do that and just reactive it once i have the pop up open. At the very least it will kill your unwanted pop ups.

Ok guys I figured it out. For all of you that hate the XP popups, go to Run. Type in services.msc and press Ok. Scroll down to Messenger, and disable it, then stop it. If there are any questions just email me.

That's a different kind of pop-up. ;)

Microsoft made a huge mistake by not disabling this service "out of the box" for Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows XP. The only practical use for it is in business networks, which could easily remotely re-enable it as necessary with security policies.

Just my :2cents:
