Ronnie Mervis wants to buy the Redskins.

Signed, and I make no apologies for signing. Dan Snyder could be a fantastic owner, because I think his heart is in the right place. He loves the Redskins, and he wants to see them succeed just as much as any of us. The problem, is that he simply WILL NOT see past his own deficiencies to become a great owner. The guy has no business making any football related decisions whatsoever. He seems to be hell bent on doing it his way, regardless if it takes the Redskins 40 years to get lucky and win a Super Bowl before he passes on.

LOL

nice response my friend.

I had just arrived in Ashburn, Virginia. The night was dark with only the light of an Olive Garden sign to guide me.

As I slowly worked my way along Panarama Parkway, it all nearly came to an end.

[sound effect of tires screeching]

A Volvo station wagon nearly ran head on into our expedition.

[Cue lightning and rain sound effects]

Suddenly, a heavy rain began to fall, which played havoc with my Mercedes recepiton of 980.

Just when all seemed lost, Redskins Park emerged before us, like a welcoming watering hole on the savannah.

Nobody pays retails any more. Why should he?

I lol'd. :D

Seriously though' date=' I think a lot of people are into this just because he's "not Dan". As much as I dislike a lot of Snyder's decisions (keeping Cerrato around sitting firmly at the top of that list) I think that he truly does want whats best for the team and does care about winning, he either just doesn't know how to go about it properly or is too stubborn to recognize that his current path leads only deeper into a swamp of fail. He's willing to spend, he's willing to be aggressive in acquiring what he [i']thinks[/i] we need (misguided or not). Many teams out there would kill for an owner like that. He just needs direction, and smarter football people around him. Now I wouldn't exactly be distraught to see him go, but I think that some folk may be running headlong into a classic "be careful what you wish for" cliché. There are worse ownership traits out there than not knowing properly where and on who to drop his gigantic stacks of cash.

Ronnie Mervis would be 10 times worse of an owner than Snyder

How could this get any worse? You could say that we would be just as bad but not spend any money...but at least then we would adjust our expectations appropriately. This team constantly underachieves and it is because there is no real accountability from the top. My hope is a new owner would come in and hire a high quality GM who has been successful before in building winners. Then he would hire a high quality Capologist, and then go away. After that the only thing he would do is sign the checks and/or if things go wrong, hire a new GM.

I think this is just a publicity stunt.

An awesome one' date=' but a stunt nonetheless.

Besides, do you really think Ronnie is going to pay retail for a sports franchise?

:hysterical: Not sure why, but I love those ads.
