SkinsHokieFan
So there is a thread in the stadium about apathy, and how its hit you. Now, every week I look forward to the game and watching. However I think now its more out of habit then anything, seeing that I have been doing this every Sunday since I was 7 years old So how do I break a 20 year old pattern? What would you do instead of watch the Redskins? Mind you, I go to the gym on Sunday after all of the game are over, around 7ish. So lets just take that out of the equation
MattFancy
NASCAR is still on for a few more weeks, MLB playoffs, NHL, NBA and college bball starting up soon. Watching the Redskins is too depressing lately.

Kosher Ham
Listen to them online or on the radio. I won't ever stop watching them on Sundays when they have games. Ever.
Special K
Go fishing. Went last Sunday...and the Sunday before that. The day isn't a total waste if you can haul in a nice salmon.

Special K
The bandwagon is losing it's wheels. Why do you say that? I don't think it's wrong, or bandwagon-like, to see your team playing like crap then turn off the TV and do something constructive with your day instead of wallowing in misery. Kosher Ham
I am not miserable about the Redskins losing, but I enjoy the game. So even when they are losing, there are bright spots and instances, where I can evaluate the game and players better. To me especially living out of the DMV area now, I would prefer to watch my team lose than any other. Cowboys, Panthers, Patriots, and Falcons fans are notorious for just skipping out on their teams after a few weeks. I break it down and see areas of concern, and areas of opportunity. Cowboys, Panthers, Patriots, and Falcons fans are notorious for just skipping out on their teams after a few weeks. I break it down and see areas of concern, and areas of opportunity. Fair enough. I get really frustrated then depressed...especially when I know we could do so much better. My brother's the same way as me. Salmon aren't in for much longer, so it's a lot more relaxing and enjoyable to just sit out there, bounce roe, and vent. My dad is like you though. He wouldn't leave the game for anything. We usually come back and get our "highlights" from dad.
Spaceman Spiff
Living on the west coast, getting up at 9:30 and watching the Skins at 10 would be pretty sweet...get it out of the way early.

I'm with the parents up in Northern Cal for a few weeks and luckily they have Sunday ticket, so I can just roll out of bed and check out the game. My husband and I are moving to Colorado in a week and I've already made the hard decision (my husband doesn't give a crap about football, so it's always me pushing for the Sunday Ticket) not to get Sunday Ticket for the remainder of the season when we set up the DirecTV at our new place. I can't rationalize spending insane money on something that is going to depress me more often than not.
ixcuincle
I have no apathy. I watch every game every Sunday / Monday, I'm in every chat every game all fired up. It's hard to imagine doing anything else during a Redskins game. Although I did used to nap during 1 pm Redskins games lol that's as close as apathy as it got
Heidenreich
I posted in the apathy thread in the stadium. I am way down on the Redskins this year, but only when it comes to letting it affect everything else during the week. That is cut out. I was over yesterdays loss right after it ended. I'll enjoy the week & be fine. Sunday at 1 pm, I'll be right back at the bar watching the game. I enjoy watching & rooting for the Redskins too much to deprive myself of that...... desioreo87
basically. I just record the games so I don't have to wait for commercials and so I can fast forward through horrible replays. My gameday experience is like an hour which makes it much more bearable and fun. But really, almost anything else would be better at this point. Might as well get high and watch the skins from now on.
renaissance
Pick your nose? Watch paint dry? Pick a wedgie? I can think of a million things that are more exciting and 100x less frustrating... Really though, the last few weeks I've had the Redskins on my comp and another game on the tv. As I said in the stadium thread, I find myself peeking up at the tv more and more often lately. I also usually am cooking during the game so that's a good distraction. edit: Oh and I recently bought a Slingbox for the sole purpose of being able to watch the Redskins every week. I'm really glad my parents get HBO, Showtime, etc so I can also watch Entourage, Dexter, Big Love, etc. Otherwise I would consider that $200 to be a really ****ty investment. rdsknbill
I didn't watch a down yesterday. I played golf with my son who is home from college on fall break. I checked the score at one point, saw that we were up 17-2 and put the phone away. Got off the course and went to the "19th hole" Checked again and saw that we lost. I am almost here
abdcskins
I can't fathom not watching the Skins on Sunday. I have been getting up at like 8:45 every morning since 2000 just to drive to the bar and watch the game. I don't even go out that often on Saturday night just so I can do it no problem. It's a ritual and I will keep doing it. I still enjoy watching the Skins even if they suck. You get a sense of where we need improvement(everywhere) and such. Plus we win occassionally!
