NoCalMike
So I haven't missed a game since 2000. I've been there for the 0-5 start, for 5 in a row or we don't go, for the Spurrier debacle etc etc etc..... However because I live outside the home region, and don't have Direct TV, I have witnessed 90% of the games at the sportsbar. For the most part I have never had a problem spending approx $10 a week on drinks and an occassional snack. I always had the mindset that a "True Fan" is going to be there watching the games to the best of their power whether the team is good or bad. I thought it was an easy and cop-out thing to do to outright ignore the team when they were bad and suddenly find interest and the time to watch games when the team gets good. Living in CA, I have a couple in-laws who claim to be Raiders "fans" but they were out doing something else while the Raiders got smashed by the NY Giants. P.S. Money is not an issue. It's not like I spend that much on a weekly basis. This is the first week I am actually questioning my passion and loyalty. What would you do in the current situation as a fan if you had no other choice but to go to the sportsbar to watch the games, while the team was so frickin medicore? Am I in the right by going every week regardless of how the team looks, or are my in-laws right by refusing to support a Raiders team that is just absolute garbage and they don't feel it is necessary to be witnessing this mess? ttr77
I would go, but wear a paper bag the entire time.
benskins26
Tough question. I saw the silver lining on the wall last year after being in the same situation, and got Sunday Ticket, that way even though as my team sucks, I can justify it by watching the other games
Fred Jones
I firmly believe the skins have the best fans in the league. We have sucked for many years and yet the fans are just a passionate as if we were winning SB's. That said, taking a break from your team is not crime against fanhood. I stopped buying anything skins related until the owner changes his ways. Call me a traitor, but the owner is not longer getting my money.
abdcskins
I would go to the sportsbar. I don't think it is a big thing, if you want to watch the game then you want to watch the game. Do I think that "true" fans watch every game regardless of record? Yes. But it's not like a sin or anything to miss it. I go to the sportsbar(Joxer Daly's) every week to watch the game regardless of record, although I will stay home if the game is nationally broadcasted. 21Knock_U_Out
I dont go because i get pissed @ our teams play. Its just not fun being at a bar with other fans having a great time while your team is sucking. I still love the skins though.
Monkfan63
I already gave up my season tix. I still watch the games at home. But if for some reason I could not, there is no way I would waste my time going to a bar to watch the games. And not because they are not good. But because with Synder and Cerrato at the helm, I feel there is NO hope for this team ever being any good.
justice98
I used to go to the sportsbar until streaming of live tv on the internet really took off a couple years ago. The quality has improved so much, that now it's really a waste to trek out to the sportsbar and waste the time or money unless you really enjoy the sports bar experience.
