Trade deadline Oct. 20 @4pm EDT - possible trades we could make? (merged)

Can we trade Daniels for a bag of chips? I know he's there to stop the run, but if I have to see another running back nearly break Daniels ankles one more time I'm going to scream. He has ZERO lateral movement, but hey, he can squat a Volkswagen. Time for a complete youth movement and give Jarmon the job full-time.

No way would I consider trading Fletch. You need to keep a VERY PRODUCTIVE veteran leader on the field to lead the young uns.

I'd love to see Jarmon in there starting sometime this season.

What about trading Landry to San Diego for Merriman and a 3rd round draft pick? Would they go for it? Merriman might enjoy coming back this way, and the Chargers could be anxious to deal him. Landry is not soft, but he seems to be underacheiving in our system. We could move Orakpo to the line where he belongs. Horton and Doughty could start. We have Moore as well. What I really like is the 3rd round pick.

Merriman is and will be a shadow of his former self with his knee issues. No thanks.

Let's get Brady Quinn. He's a stud qb in a TERRIBLE situation.

If they didn't want 4 players for him I'd do it. But the last couple of trades have me worried we'd be taken to the woodshed dealing with the Browns. 4 players for a one year wonder WR anyone?

I never thought I'd say this, but we could get some value out of Landry potentially. Throw either Horton / Smoot out there as the FS. Landry is NOT playing well in Blaches scheme's so far this season.

Trade him for a 3rd and I'm happy, anything better then that and I'm really happy :D

Wouldn't mind seeing us try to trade Fred Davis or LaRon Landry.

Davis should not be traded. The value he'd be worth after not producing for 2 years at best would be a 5th rounder. I think Davis has talent, were just too stupid to use the talent. Instead of trading him why don't we create some two TE packages and get him the ball instead?

Stop making sense. Answer is it's probably the same reason we don't run slants and bootlegs.

nfl.com has a great video from the steelers vs chargers game where big ben is mic'ed up, and in the second half, he throws a pass and merriman gets to him late, big ben was geniunely surprised to see him and was like, "dang, where you been? I haven't seen you all game" and then I think ben realized that this could sound like an insult and started asking about his health... but it was a great moment of sincerity and sign of merriman's recent struggles...

regarding us trading anyone, the way we structure our contracts (at least for our starters) makes them virtually untradable...

It's stuff like this. This is the reason why I hate to be a Redskins fan.

"BUILD THROUGH THE DRAFT OMG WE HAVE TO STOP TRADING AWAY DRAFT PICKS OMG"

Then, when drafting takes a little while to come through

"TRADE EVERYONE AWAY FOR DRAFT PICKS"

We need a solid, concerted effort of building through the draft. The stupid picks and even dumber trades aren't going to bring anything but more 9-7 seasons at best here. Give me 3-4 years of drafting solid players, year in and year out, and adding one or two decent pieces through free agencies, then we can make the big waves with mid season trades to give us that one or two pieces we need. One or two pieces isn't going to fix this team at this point.

If the owners don't agree to a new labor agreement at the end of the 2010 season (this season) , guess what NO SALARY CAP.

"..2011 would be an uncapped season. NFLPA president Gene Upshaw has said once there is an uncapped year, a salary cap would never return. Death of the small market teams?.."

We will be the Yankees of football and lo and behold the rulers of the Universe. ... i jest, i kid...not really ;)

As much as I hate to say it Laron Landry would be one of the best options. He has the most value and we have Doughty, Horton and Moore so their are quality replacements.

Laron and Sean would of been great though.

I would not mind giving Landry up for a quality OL, RB, LB or DE.

I might also think about giving him up for a 2nd rd pick and a third. So we can stock up on OL next year.

Laron Landry for a 2nd and 3rd.

That would mean next years draft, we have a 1st, two 2nds, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 7th. I think, I know Jason Taylor trade means we have no 6th.

This is how I would try to approach the draft.

1st- OL (Left Tackle)

2nd- RB

2nd- OL (gaurd)

3rd- OL (center)

4th- DE

5th- LB

7th- S (to fill last spot on roster from Landry Trade)

I would not go after a QB because if we dont have a good OL anyways it really doesnt matter. I would resign Campbell, you wouldnt have to break the bank considering he doesnt seem wanted by many other teams. If he is still cant progress in the third season of his new system than we pick up a FA Veteran QB.

I would use FA to fill in minor gaps and get players that are lesser known and are still hungry. Maybe a DE, DT or LB.

The last thing I would want is a WR. If by the end of this year Kelly and Thomas havent done anything it is time to pick up one in FA.

How does that sound to you all? I think it would make me very happy.

So I would want Heyor and Rinehart as backups. 3 OL in the first three rounds mean we could be great and stable for years. A fresh RB could come in and back up Portis. When Portis finally runs out of gas we have his replacement. Also it would be nice to have a revamped line with a Vet and a rookie with fresh legs.

As for defense we are pretty good. A couple FA's to fill in a few places would be great.

As for the coach. I havent given up on Zorn yet. But for the sake of argument, lets say he cant cut it. I would try to see if he would be our Offensive coordinator so we dont have to start over. He would have to be humble and step down. Then I would get Holmgren and have him use Zorns offense but he could adjust it to his liking.

Last but not least I would demote Vinny and give him a different role. Then I would hire myself to be the GM so I could get this thing going! I would trust my scouts and not give away any future draft picks. I would also always try to get more draft picks. Build from within. Take care of the guys on the team. Get rid of egos and build a team enviroment. Everyone practices, everyone gets treated the same.

Ladell Betts - Yes, but probably couldn't get much more than a 6th.

Andre Carter - Yes, I could see a thrid from a playoff team that wants to add a pass rush specialist. Bring Rob Jackson up from PS and insert Oarakpo and/or Jarmon into starting role.

Fred Davis - I don't see why not.....

London Fletcher - No, do not trade.

Cornelius Griffin - Yes, but again probably a 6 or 7 is value.

Malcolm Kelly - No

LaRon Landry - No

Rocky McIntosh - No

Santana Moss - If we can get a 2 or 3...

Clinton Portis - Maybe

Casey Rabach - LOL... No one would trade for him

Antwaan Randle-El - Yes, maybe a 5?

Chris Samuels - No

Mike Sellers - No one would trade for him.

Fred Smoot - No one would trade for him.

Devin Thomas - No

Randy Thomas - No one would trade for him.
