Thiebear
aving made a five-day congressional workweek de rigueur for much of the year, House Democrats are planning an easier schedule for next year. A 2008 calendar distributed to congressional offices Monday shows the House holding five-day weeks only three times next year, exposing Democrats to charges that they are backing away from a pledge to work harder than Republicans did when they ruled the House. “You have to hand it to Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats for … rewarding themselves with another broken promise,” said Ken Spain, a spokesman for the National Republican Congressional Committee. “With a record low approval rating, … you would think they would start getting to work instead of planning extra vacation days.” More HERE: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1207/7162.html Open the Calendar: August: off October: off November: off December: off not a bad job for $174,000 + 93,000 this year per person to fix up their offices (in the worst recession since 1930) I was mad about this last year when we thought everything was falling apart...and nobody was working. Ooops: Sorry: Repeat of 2 years ago.... Not to be confused with last year.. or next year. or 2011. Burgold
I wish that they would stop doing everything that conservatives ask for. Sadly, even when they do I don't think they get it right. When Conservatives are shouting "Less Government" I don't think this is what they mean. (What a bunch of bums. They can't get their work done and instead of working harder and longer... well...) Edit: Aack... got caught by not reading the date. Still, it's safe to assume that they're a bunch of bums. They shouldn't have been allowed to go on break until they got healthcare worked out or it was voted down. Edit 2: I always knew Thiebear could be trusted. What a bunch of bums. I'm getting dizzy.
