Redskins4Life
http://www.denverpost.com/Stories/0...1520878,00.html Denver Post had this to report: By Veronica Torrejn, Denver Post Staff Writer Two Denver Broncos were arrested Friday morning in Aurora after officers said they were fighting with another man in a restaurant parking lot. According to an arrest report, several police officers, who were doing traffic control for a street-paving project nearby, witnessed the fight in the parking lot of an International House of Pancakes on East Mississippi Avenue about 2:35 a.m. A report by Sgt. J. Lesnansky said Broncos starting defensive tackle Daryl Gardener, 30, and reserve defensive tackle Russell Newman, 22, and a man identified as Keithan Holiday were arguing in the parking lot when Holiday hit either Gardener or Newman. The three then began fighting. Lesnansky described Holiday as "smaller" than Newman, who is 6 feet 2 inches and 280 pounds, and Gardener, 6 feet 6 inches and 295 pounds. Lesnansky reported that when Holiday fell to the ground the two continued to hit and kick him, ignoring police commands to stop. Holiday was taken to a hospital. Officers used pepper spray on the players and arrested them on suspicion of disorderly conduct. They were booked and released on personal recognizance bonds. Witnesses said the incident began when words were exchanged between the players and Holiday, who was at the restaurant with two women. They said Gardener and Newman were with three other women. Jim Saccomano, Broncos vice president of public relations, declined comment, saying he hadn't heard about the incident.
stratoman
I am so glad the Skins didn't try to keep Gardener. I felt that his character was questionable. I hope they make an example out of him. I use to live in Aurora and have visited that IHOP several times.

bulldog
I would imagine that Gardener and Co. were provoked by a guy trying to show his 'ladies' how tough he was and he paid the price for it before the cops showed up. I have no illusions that some players in the NFL and NBA are thugs or bullies but at the same time a similar percentage of the general population are as well. In this case the guy got his a$$ kicked. So be it. BTW, what is up with the IHOPs at 2 a.m.? I had no idea it was such a swinging place........................... no pun intended
